Concordia Residences: Loyola, Grey Nuns and 2026-27 Rent
Concordia runs residences on both Montreal campuses: Hingston Hall and the Jesuit Residence at Loyola, and Grey Nuns downtown at Sir George Williams. Concordia says Grey Nuns won't be available for 2027-28, so first-year students starting in Fall 2027 should plan on Loyola or CAMPUS1 MTL, the approved off-campus alternative. Rent is charged monthly; 2026-27 Loyola rates start at $690 a person in a shared double. The $6,520 meal plan is mandatory.

The residences
Concordia's Jesuit Residence pages give its size as 50 or 52 private rooms. All Concordia residences are co-ed. Loyola is home to science programs, journalism and communications; Sir George Williams to business, engineering and many humanities programs. A shuttle bus links the two campuses.
| Residence | Campus | What it's like |
|---|---|---|
| Hingston Hall (HA and HB) | Loyola | Two four-floor buildings; mostly single rooms with shared floor bathrooms, plus shared doubles in HA. Large HB rooms have a double bed. Each floor has a kitchenette, laundry, a TV lounge and a games room. |
| Jesuit Residence (JR) | Loyola | Private rooms over six floors, each with its own washroom and a double bed. |
| Grey Nuns Residence | Sir George Williams (downtown) | Historic building with shared doubles and singles. Not available for 2027-28. |
| CAMPUS1 MTL | Downtown | An approved third-party alternative, operated independently of Concordia. |

Guaranteed housing
New students with an offer of guaranteed housing get priority. In the 2026 cycle, you received a guarantee letter by email if you applied for admission by March 1 and got a fall offer, and on June 1 you were 18 or younger (outside Quebec) or 19 or younger (Quebec residents). Guaranteed applicants could apply from March 1, 2026, and other undergraduates from May 1, 2026.
Once Concordia's own residences are full, applicants are referred to CAMPUS1 MTL. You must be between 16 and 25 to live in residence.
How to apply and confirm
- Apply through Housing Application (eRez) in your Student Centre, using your netname. The application fee is $100, non-refundable.
- Rank as many locations and room types as you can; Concordia says more choices improve your chances, but it can't guarantee a match.
- If you choose a shared room, Roomeez helps you find a roommate, or Concordia matches you.
- When you get a conditional offer, pay the $1,500 confirmation fee by the date in the letter: $1,125 goes toward your first month's rent and $375 pays the infrastructure fee.
- You must also sign the lease, pay the fall meal plan in full and attend a virtual info session.
Cancelling and international deadlines
| When you cancel (fall) | Fee |
|---|---|
| Until July 31 | $750 |
| August 1 to the lease start | $1,125 |
| After the lease starts | $1,125 plus one month's rent |
- Leases follow Quebec law, which allows ending a lease only in certain situations.
- International students outside the U.S. must upload an approved CAQ and proof of a study permit application by July 15, and the study permit letter of introduction by August 15. Miss the deadline and the room goes back to the waitlist.
