Guelph residence: guarantee steps, room rates, and meal plans
Guelph publishes per-group guarantee steps, a full tentative Fall 2026–Winter 2027 room-rate table, and labelled 2026/2027 Campus Meal Plan sizes, but it has not released any Fall 2027 guarantee criteria, deadline, deposit rule, or rates. Ontario high-school residence guarantee
For Fall 2026, Ontario high-school applicants who received an offer of admission before March 1 were guaranteed a residence space if they submitted the residence application by April 15, paid the $750 deposit by June 1, and accepted their offer through OUAC by June 1. Applicants admitted after March 1 were not guaranteed and joined a first-come-first-served wait list.
Treat these dates as the working pattern for Fall 2027, not confirmed deadlines.

International multi-year housing guarantee
Guelph's admission site states that international undergraduate students beginning in 2026 are guaranteed university housing for the duration of their studies, and first-year students from outside Ontario who do not pay international fees are guaranteed residence for first year. Eligibility required accepting the offer, applying to residence, and paying the $750 deposit by June 1, 2026 for fall entry.
The multi-year wording applies to students beginning in 2026; confirm whether Guelph repeats it for 2027 entry before relying on it.

Residence deposit rules
The $750 residence deposit was not required until June 1, 2026: students could submit the residence application first and pay later by credit card in the Housing Portal. Once paid, the deposit is applied to Winter 2027 residence fees and is non-refundable except for students still on the wait list when cancelling, a revoked admission offer, or an approved deferral.

Where meal plans work and how balances carry
Campus Meal Plans can be used at any Hospitality Services location, including the Gryph N' Grille and Snack Shack food trucks. Students in the East Residence, West Residence, East Village Townhouses, or off-campus housing can instead choose an Ultra Food Plan, and leftover meal-plan dollars carry over as long as the student remains at U of G.

Apply before you pay
Guelph lets students submit the residence application without the deposit. In the 2026 cycle, Ontario applicants admitted before March 1 confirmed their guarantee by April 15, and the $750 deposit was not due until June 1.
Plan the full obligation
Traditional North and South residence rooms require a Campus Meal Plan, so compare room plus plan, not rent alone. East and West Residences and East Village Townhouses make the plan optional because they have kitchen access.
Have a wait-list backup
Applicants admitted after March 1 are not guaranteed and join a first-come-first-served wait list. As of this review, residences are at full capacity for Fall 2026, so late applicants should compare off-campus options early.
