The Faculty of Health Studies 'offers a four year program leading to a Bachelor of Nursing (BN) degree' whose graduates 'will be eligible to write the qualifying examinations for licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN) with the College of Registered Nurses of Manitoba (CRNM).' For psychiatric nursing, 'Applicants who meet the general admission requirements of Brandon University will be considered for acceptance into the Pre-Psychiatric Nursing Year,' and Brandon 'in collaboration with the University of Winnipeg, offers our four-year BScPN program in Winnipeg' as well as in Brandon. BScPN graduates are eligible to write the licensure examinations for Registered Psychiatric Nurse with the College of Registered Psychiatric Nurses of Manitoba.

Admission to a pre-professional year is not admission to the professional years. The Winnipeg site has its own June 14 domestic deadline and its own intake.

The cadence continued through July 8 to 21 applications receiving offers July 23, with a July 30 deposit deadline. The deposit refund deadline was June 20, 2026. Check-in for Fall and academic-year students was September 4 and 5, 2026. Fall term housing fees were due September 8, 2026.

What counts as a Brandon co-op work term

Brandon defines co-op as 'a structured approach that formally integrates a student's academic studies with relevant work experience' that 'alternates student study terms with work terms.' The FAQ sets the floor: 'At a minimum, for the position to be considered a Co-op, it must be paid, full-time for at least 12 weeks (420 hours).' Work terms run about four months, usually May to August, and eight-month terms are possible. Each completed work-term course is worth 3.0 credit hours; three of them total 9.0 credit hours and earn a co-operative education designation on the parchment, though those credits cannot fill major, minor, or liberal arts requirements.

Co-op is open to Faculty of Arts and Faculty of Science undergraduates who can 'commit one to three hours per week to the Professional Development Series, and job searching efforts.' Each major sets its own bar: a major GPA of 3.00 for Biology, Chemistry, Computer Science, and Applied Disaster & Emergency Studies, 2.70 for Business Administration and the studio-art majors, and as low as 2.60 for some Arts majors, with entry credit-hour minimums between 12 and 30 and further completion requirements of up to 45 credit hours before the first work term. Business Administration 'only allows for a student complete Work Experience Stream (one work term).' A student may be conditionally admitted while registered in the required courses.

Admission to Brandon from high school is not admission to co-op. The co-op application happens after you are in a participating major.

Brandon charges a one-time non-refundable Co-op Program Fee of $650 on acceptance. It also charges the applicable 3.0 credit-hour course fee for each work term registered. On outcomes the FAQ is blunt: 'Your participation in the Co-op Program does not guarantee a job. However, we can say that 90% of students in the 2020/2021 Co-op Program did land a job.' Employers set salaries. The page cites average wages between $12 and $19 per hour.
