Sheridan Bruins Athletics and Recreation: Gyms, Teams and Fees

Every Sheridan campus has a gym and weight room. Full-time students already pay for access through their fees, so you just show your student card.

What you pay and how you get in

Membership is included in full-time student fees. Show your student card at the facility's control centre. Two mandatory ancillary fees fund athletics in 2026-27, and you can't opt out of them.

The Bruins site also lists student memberships for time between academic terms: $93.79 for the academic year and $76.84 for the summer break. Buy memberships online through Sheridan's Univerus portal or at an athletics front desk. Sheridan says prices can change without notice.

Rec leagues, drop-in and club teams

Rec leagues are co-ed and non-competitive, and some need as little as one hour a week. Anyone can join regardless of skill, and every rec sport counts toward Sheridan's Co-Curricular Record. Drop-in sports change by campus and semester, so check the all-campus sport calendar and sign up there.

Club teams play one-day tournaments against other colleges and universities through Ontario Collegiate Recreation. They practise at least once a week, may hold tryouts and usually charge a small fee. Tryouts are posted on the Univerus portal.

Sheridan Bruins varsity teams

The Sheridan Bruins field ten varsity teams. Men's teams play baseball, basketball, cross country, soccer and volleyball. Women's teams play basketball, cross country, soccer, softball and volleyball.

The Bruins compete against other Ontario colleges, and their site links to the OCAA and the CCAA. The athletics fee covers open access to tryouts and fan entry to games. If you're a future student athlete, use the Be a Varsity Bruin form to tell coaches about your sport and your program choice.
