Where to find them

Library and Learning Services runs three campus libraries, four Learning Commons and four Tutoring Centres. Davis has two Learning Commons, in the J-wing and the A-wing. Bring your OneCard, because staff or Security can ask to see it at any time.

Group and silent study rooms

Every Learning Commons has collaborative, silent, individual and group study spaces. Current Sheridan students can book group study rooms online. Silent study rooms need no booking and go first come, first served.

Food isn't allowed in either type of room. Covered drinks are fine.

  • Book no more than 24 hours ahead, and only for your own group.
  • Each group gets one booking a day, for up to 3 hours.
  • Rooms hold 2 to 4 people. You can't book one to study alone.
  • Arrive more than 10 minutes late and you lose the room.

Computers, printing and charging

Each Learning Commons has computers with Microsoft Office and Adobe Creative Cloud. Log in with your Sheridan username and password. Computers are first come, first served and meant for coursework.

Printers copy, scan to email and print in colour or black and white. You pay per page from your OneCard, and Sheridan puts $5 on every student's OneCard at the start of the program. Top up at the IT Service Desk or online. You can borrow USB-C, mini USB and Lightning charging cords at the circulation desk.

Borrowing books and other items

Each campus library lends books, DVDs, board games and journal issues. Show your OneCard or library card at the service desk. The library keeps a limited number of textbooks on short-term loan for some courses. You can also buy textbooks at the Sheridan Bookstore.

Need a book held at another campus? Choose Request in the library record, and it's shipped to the campus you pick. Interlibrary loans from other institutions are possible but cost extra. Ebooks, streaming media and databases are online around the clock.

Material ConneXion Library at HMC

The Material ConneXion Library in room B410 at Hazel McCallion holds about 1,500 material samples you can see and touch. It's open by appointment only.
