MyMohawk or MyCanvas?

Mohawk describes MyMohawk as its student portal from application to graduation. MyCanvas is where your courses run, including online quizzes and open courses such as Study Smart. Mohawk's Digital Skills team supports both.

Your MohawkID and login

Your MohawkID is your 9-digit student number. It isn't your email address. You'll find it on your Letter of Acknowledgement, your offer of admission or your fee statement. It signs you in to MyMohawk, MyCanvas, email, Wi-Fi, Microsoft 365 and MohawkAPPS, written as your number followed by @mohawkcollege.ca.

Multifactor authentication (MFA) is required for every student. Enrol at aka.ms/mfasetup. Mohawk IT recommends the Microsoft Authenticator app, and text or phone call also work. Reset your password through Microsoft's online password reset. If MyMohawk still won't open after a reset, contact the IT Service Desk.

From offer to registered

Accept your offer on ontariocolleges.ca by the date in your offer letter. You can accept one Mohawk program and keep a wait-list spot in another. If your offer is conditional, you have to meet the conditions before you can choose a timetable. Mohawk's accept-your-offer page still lists dates for the 2025 cycle, so use your offer letter for your deadline.

Next, Mohawk emails your fee statement to your Mohawk email only. It isn't posted in MyMohawk or mailed. Domestic students pay a $250 non-refundable tuition deposit once per academic year, by the due date on that statement. The deposit counts toward your fees, and paying late adds a $150 fee. For fall 2026, statements for new domestic students went out as early as May 15, 2026.

  • Option 1: pay the whole balance by the deposit date.
  • Option 2: pay the deposit, then the rest by the tuition due date or when you choose your timetable.
  • Option 3: OSAP students pay the deposit, then defer the rest. OSAP doesn't cover the deposit or late fees, and deferral only appears if your account is set up for it.
  • Option 4: if an employer or agency sponsors you, send its letter to arsponsors@mohawkcollege.ca by the deposit date.
  • First-semester students also book Assessments for Success. They don't affect your offer, but they place you in the right Communications course.

Choosing your timetable

Mohawk's timetable tool uses blocks. A block is a set schedule with the courses you're expected to take that semester. In MyMohawk, open the Registration tab and choose "Find out when to register online" to see when registration opens for your program.

When it opens, choose "Choose or change my timetable". Confirm your program and details, then click through the blocks to preview each schedule. First-semester students may also pick a Communication course. Click "Submit to register" when you're done. You're only registered once your fees are paid or a deferral such as OSAP is on file.

  • If every block says "Block is full!", contact the Registrar's Office at 905-575-1212.
  • Your timetable shows the program code, block code and course registration number (CRN). Online synchronous classes show Room: ONLINE. Asynchronous courses show ON-ASYNCH and are usually scheduled on Saturdays.
  • Check your timetable again before classes start, because it can change.
  • Your ONE Card is ready 24 to 48 hours after you submit your timetable.

Paying tuition

Mohawk has taken tuition payments online only since December 2, 2024. It doesn't accept cash, cheques or in-person payments. Before you pay, check the amount and deadline on your fee statement. Your MyMohawk account won't show your deposit or balance owing until you choose your timetable.

  • Credit card or Visa Debit and Mastercard Debit: in MyMohawk, Payments and Statements, then Make a Payment. It's applied instantly. Mohawk says Neo Financial Mastercards aren't supported.
  • Online banking: the payee is "Mohawk College". Use your SBID number from your fee statement as the account number, not your student ID. Allow 3 to 5 business days.
  • International cards and accounts: pay through Flywire.
  • Your residence account is separate. Pay residence fees to the residence, not the college.
  • Taking less than a full load? You're part-time for fees if you take under 70% of your program's contact hours or 66⅔% of its courses. Then you pay per course, which can affect OSAP.
