Mohawk College Campuses: Fennell, Stoney Creek, IAHS and the Airport

Mohawk's main campus is Fennell, on the Hamilton Mountain. Trades, health and aviation programs run at other sites, so your program page decides where you'll study.

Compare the campuses

Mohawk's campus directory lists four main learning locations in the Hamilton area. The descriptions below are how each campus page describes itself. They aren't full program lists, so use the program search filter for your campus before you decide.

Mohawk's pages don't agree on how to label the airport site. The directory lists the Centre for Aviation Technology with the campuses, but the same page's footer files it under partner locations. Either way, it's where the Aviation Technician programs run.

Fennell Campus (FF), the main campus135 Fennell Avenue West, Hamilton, L9C 0E5At the edge of the Hamilton escarpment, at West 5th Street and Fennell Avenue. It has had the largest renovation in Mohawk's history, and the page describes it as a place to live and learn.
Stoney Creek Campus for Skilled Trades (SC)481 Barton Street, Stoney Creek, L8E 2L7Home of the Marshall School of Skilled Trades & Apprenticeship. Mohawk says it serves about 2,400 apprenticeship students a year.
Institute for Applied Health Sciences at McMaster (IH)1400 Main Street West, Hamilton, L8S 1C7A centre of excellence for health careers on McMaster University's grounds, with human anatomy, simulation, computer and digital labs. Mohawk arranges clinical placements in hospitals and clinics in Hamilton and across Ontario.
Centre for Aviation Technology at Hamilton International Airport (HA)9500 Airport Road, Mount Hope (Hamilton), L0R 1W0Classrooms, labs and hangar space for Aviation Technician: Aircraft Maintenance (269), Aircraft Structures (289) and Avionics Maintenance (299).

Fennell Campus

Most full-time programs, the residence and the main student services are at Fennell. Mohawk's only residence is here. The residence pages say there's no Mohawk residence for Stoney Creek or IAHS, so check where your classes run before you plan housing.

Fennell has a digital campus map. It gives directions from parking lots and the bus terminal, has an accessible-route option and works in seven languages. Use it to find rooms and services in your first week.

IAHS and Stoney Creek

IAHS students study on McMaster University's campus. Mohawk says you can use Mohawk's library and McMaster's libraries. Parking at IAHS goes through McMaster, not Mohawk (see the parking section below).

Stoney Creek is Mohawk's skilled trades campus. The Mohawk Students' Association office there is inside the Stoney Creek Fitness Centre, room A125. There's no residence at either campus.

Partner locations

Some programs run at partner sites instead of a Mohawk campus. The directory lists the Ogwehoweh Skills and Trades Training Centre in Ohsweken, Six Nations Polytechnic in Brantford and Ohsweken, Tansley Woods and Wentworth Heights (Schlegel), and St. Joseph's Villa in Dundas. Six Nations Polytechnic's Brantford campus offers select Mohawk programs close to home.

If your program page names a partner location, ask the program contact which services and transit options apply there before you plan your commute.

The HSR bus pass on PRESTO

The Mohawk Students' Association (MSA) gives full-time students an HSR Bus Pass Voucher. You redeem it onto a PRESTO card, which adds the UPASS and post-secondary fare type. Then you can ride any Hamilton Street Railway (HSR) bus. The voucher is for your use only and can't be sold or transferred.

You pay for it through a compulsory fee. Mohawk's 2026-27 fee table lists the MSA Universal Transit Pass at $109.73 a semester, or $219.46 for two. The table says it applies only to programs at campuses within the HSR service area, while the MSA page says all full-time students get a voucher. If your program runs at the airport or a partner site, check your fee statement.

  • Voucher periods: September 1 to December 31, January 1 to April 30, and May 1 to August 31.
  • Once you've registered, choose your timetable in MyMohawk. Allow 48 hours, then look for the voucher code in your Mohawk email.
  • No PRESTO card yet? The MSA sells physical cards for $4.00 at its service desks. You can also add a digital PRESTO card to Apple or Google Wallet, but you can't switch back to a physical card.
  • The pass covers HSR only. Commuting from outside Hamilton? Load extra funds onto the same PRESTO card at an MSA office. Mohawk also links to a GO Transit student rate and a Burlington Transit add-on.
  • The Mohawk College Terminal at Fennell has bus bays and heated shelters for HSR routes 20, 21, 33 and 35.

Parking, bikes and carpools

Fennell, Stoney Creek and the aviation centre use Mohawk's parking system. Fall 2026 semester permits went on sale on August 10, 2026 at 10 a.m. through the Parking Services site. Parking is enforced by licence plate recognition, and a permit doesn't guarantee a space. The rates below are labelled "as of September 1st, 2024" on the page checked September 30, 2026.

IAHS parking belongs to McMaster University. The newest details Mohawk posts are a 2024 update: Lot M permits cost $55 a month plus a one-time $55 transponder, with $40 back when you return it. Check McMaster Parking for current prices.

  • Carpool: add up to four licence plates to one permit. Only one of those cars can park on campus at a time.
  • Bikes: Fennell has 135 bike spots and Stoney Creek has 44. Fennell's 48-spot secure bike cage, between the P3 lot and B Wing, is free. Register online, and your ONE Card becomes the key. Renew every August.
  • Mohawk has 16 electric vehicle chargers at Fennell and Stoney Creek at $3.00 an hour, on top of paid parking. Zipcar memberships start at $20 a year.
  • Residents park in lot P10 beside the residence with a residence permit that includes overnight parking.

Your ONE Card

The ONE Card is your Mohawk student ID. You'll use it at exams, to pay for food and printing, and to open the bike cage. Submit a photo online once you're a registered student. Your card is ready 24 to 48 hours after you submit your timetable, and the first card is free. A replacement costs $25.

Pick it up at the ONE Card office: Fennell room i130 or Stoney Creek room A124 inside the Campus Store. At IAHS, the ONE Card page says Student Services in room 186. Parents and family can add money online with your Mohawk ID number and the first three letters of your first name.

See a campus before you choose

Mohawk runs in-person tours for prospective applicants who haven't confirmed an offer yet. Tours cover campus spaces, not program advice. Self-guided virtual tours are listed for new and incoming students, and Fennell, IAHS and Stoney Creek each have one. International students book tours through a Mohawk International market specialist.

Once you've accepted, Orientation Day is the fuller introduction. You can explore campus, meet your program area and pick up your ONE Card.
