How to get in as a student
Students enrolled in the current semester don't buy a membership. You enter through access gates with the barcode in the Avro Mobile app. Humber asks for these steps before your first visit.
- Download Avro Mobile.
- Upload a government ID and a self-portrait at myphoto.humber.ca for your ONECard photo.
- Sign the recreation waiver at getactive.humber.ca using your Humber login.
- Add an emergency contact to your profile.
- Renew the waiver once every academic year.
Drop-in sports, intramurals and extramurals
North runs drop-in sports, open gym for basketball, volleyball and badminton, intramurals, extramurals, learn-to-play sessions and adaptive sports. Intramurals need pre-registration, as a team or on your own.
Lakeshore runs drop-in sports, open gym, extramurals and themed special events. Lakeshore's open gym is also open to staff, faculty and community members. Schedules change each semester, so check the campus page before you go.
Humber Hawks varsity teams
The Humber Hawks are a charter member of the Ontario Colleges Athletic Association (OCAA). Humber's 2026 tryout page lists teams in 21 sports in the OCAA and 14 in the national Canadian Collegiate Athletic Association (CCAA). Humber says its teams have won more CCAA national titles than any other Canadian college.
All full-time Humber and Guelph-Humber students at any campus can try out. You must complete the Tryout Intake Form first and bring a valid health card or Morecare International card. Humber also asks interested players to fill out its prospective student-athlete form.
Athletic therapy and non-student memberships
Lakeshore's athletic therapy clinic, in room R151, treats current Humber and Guelph-Humber students with athletic injuries only. Email athletictherapist@humber.ca for an appointment.
Staff and faculty need a paid Athletics membership. New Lakeshore community memberships were closed to registration when we checked.
