How meal plans work
Your FANCard is your student ID and your meal card. Load money on it, then tap it at campus outlets that accept meal plans. Meal plans and FANCards are only accepted at the London Campus, 1001 Fanshawe College Blvd. Regional campuses generally take credit, debit and cash instead.
The downtown campus FAQ adds one exception. Residents can use the residence meal plan at Fanshawe-operated food and retail outlets, including the teaching restaurant, deli and store on the first floor of 130 Dundas Street.
| Who you are | Meal plan | How money gets on your card |
|---|---|---|
| Traditional residence (Falcon, Peregrine, Merlin) | Mandatory $1,200 light plan, paid through residence fees | Loaded automatically. Top up the Flex Plan online if you need more. |
| Kestrel Court townhouse | Optional plans from $50, according to the food services and townhouse pages | Add money to your Flex Plan at fancard.fanshawec.ca or the FANCard office in E2020 |
| Not in residence | Optional plans from $50 | Add money at fancard.fanshawec.ca or the FANCard office in E2020 |
The $1,200 traditional residence plan
Fanshawe calls it a light meal plan for occasional meals. Over eight months it works out to about $37.50 a week, and the college says many students will need more. Once it's used up, you can only add money to your Flex Plan. Family members can add money too with your student number.
The plan is non-refundable and meant to be used in the year you buy it. The only refund comes if you officially withdraw from Fanshawe, and it carries a $50 administration fee. The traditional residence page says leftover money can't be refunded at year end. The food services page says it can move to your Flex Plan.
Living at Kestrel Court? The townhouse page says the meal plan isn't mandatory, but the 2026-27 Student Housing Agreement says a minimum traditional-style plan is mandatory for all residents. Confirm with Residence Services before you pay.
Where to eat at the London Campus
The London Campus page says there are nearly a dozen cafeterias and restaurants. Food services lists these outlets. Some are run by the Fanshawe Student Union (FSU), so check hours on fsu.ca and ask at the till whether your plan works there.

Downtown and regional campuses
At the London Downtown Campus, The Chef's Table is a teaching restaurant run by students from the School of Hospitality and Creative Industries. It serves café drinks, bakery goods and a lunch menu. The downtown FAQ also points to many places within a ten-minute walk, and some give discounts when you show your Fanshawe card.
| Campus | Food on or near campus |
|---|---|
| St. Thomas/Elgin | Full-service cafeteria, closed in summer, plus vending machines and microwaves |
| Simcoe/Norfolk | Vending machines, and a café next door |
| Woodstock/Oxford | Vending machines, with a coffee shop and fast food next to campus |

If you lose your FANCard
