What's in the Student Wellness Centre
The Student Wellness Centre is in J Building at the London Campus. It has a three-floor fitness centre with cardio, strength and group exercise space, and a 36-foot climbing wall. The same building holds the Health Services medical clinic, a pharmacy in J1000, a faith and spirituality centre, wellness rooms for quiet rest and a Booster Juice.
The fitness site lists group fitness, personal training, squash, a golf simulator, locker rentals and yoga. It also offers free virtual classes and workshops to current student members.
Two Fanshawe pages give different weekday hours. The college's Student Wellness Centre page lists 6 a.m. to 9 p.m., Monday to Friday. The fitness centre site lists fall hours of 6 a.m. to 10 p.m. Both list 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. on weekends. Check the fitness site or call 519-452-4477 before a late visit.
Activating your membership
Full-time students at the London campuses have Wellness Centre access included in their fees. To switch it on, open WebAdvisor, go to the Miscellaneous section, and complete the Get Active Questionnaire and the release of liability and consent form. Your FANCard works at the door 24 hours later.
Students who are on a break, part-time, on co-op, apprentices, online or at a regional campus can buy a membership at the front desk. It's $48 plus tax per semester, with the price prorated every 15 days until the end of term.
- Book the climbing wall, golf simulator, squash courts and group fitness classes in advance.
- London Downtown Campus has no gym. Full-time downtown students use this centre.
