Students entering Fall 2023 or later receive a fixed tuition amount for the length of their program, covering the program length plus one year, and Dalhousie states that tuition will not increase or decrease during the guarantee period. Not included: incidental fees, which may change each year; co-op and work-integrated learning fees; and additional credits beyond program requirements. Changing program or faculty produces a new tuition guarantee based on that program, if it is eligible.

Only six faculties are listed in the 2026–2027 guaranteed schedule; students admitted to a faculty outside that list should confirm which tuition model applies to them.

The 2026–2027 fee schedule states that Nova Scotian students may be eligible for the Nova Scotia Student Bursary up to $1,283 per year.

This is a provincial reduction for Nova Scotian students, not a Dalhousie scholarship. Ontario, other out-of-province, and international applicants should budget without it — it is the largest structural cost difference between a Nova Scotian and an out-of-province Canadian student.

Full-time domestic students pay $1,275.05 in Fall and $475.26 in Winter on the Studley and Carleton campuses — $1,750.31 for the year — or $1,375.05 and $575.26 on Sexton, $1,950.31 for the year, because of the $100 per term Facilities Renewal – Sexton fee supporting the IDEA building for Engineering, Architecture and Planning students. The Agricultural Campus total is $877.07 Fall and $385.18 Winter, $1,262.24. Applicants must be applying directly from high school or be a mature student with no transferable post-secondary study, be starting in the Fall term, and meet the academic requirements — typically an 80% average or 26 predicted/anticipated IB points. Averages are calculated using the five courses required for the program applied for. Selection combines academic achievement, leadership and initiative, extracurricular involvement, community service, financial need, and cultural identity. Gap year students remain eligible if they have not completed transferable post-secondary study; transfer students are generally not eligible.

For the First Nations and Indigenous Black Student Scholarships, Dalhousie states the admissions average is not taken into consideration.

Award decisions are based on Grade 12 first-semester final grades, and grades received later will not be used to reassess an award. Early entrance award offers must be accepted by paying the admission deposit by January 31, which guarantees no less than the early award amount; if a General Entrance Award is later granted, the student keeps the higher-value award. Awards are applied to the student account in two equal instalments in mid-August and mid-December, and require full-time registration — minimum 9 credit hours per term for degree students and 6 for technology students.

Not yet published. Dalhousie states that board-approved tuition and fees take effect April 1 each year and apply to the immediate Summer term, that new rates may change annually, and that the current schedule is provided as information only until fees are assessed based upon actual registration.

Use the 2026–2027 schedule as the planning baseline and expect an April 1, 2027 revision before a Fall 2027 start. International students inside the tuition guarantee are the exception, because their program tuition is locked at entry.
