Compare Vancouver and Okanagan as separate student experiences
The degree name is only part of the decision. Vancouver has the broader large-campus inventory and higher local housing pressure; Okanagan offers a different set of degrees in Kelowna and a smaller campus environment. Compare the exact first-year curriculum, residence system, climate, transit, support services, and route to your intended specialization before ranking the two choices.
UBC Vancouver
A large Point Grey campus with extensive faculty, research, club, co-op, and residence options. Confirm whether a named specialization requires a second competitive selection after first year.
UBC Okanagan
A Kelowna campus with its own degree choices, direct-entry routes, residence application, co-op options, and student supports. Do not assume that a Vancouver requirement or program inventory transfers unchanged to Okanagan.
For international students, add study-permit timing, temporary iMED coverage, BC Medical Services Plan enrolment, travel, and local housing to the academic comparison.
