Student Life and Support

French-language study and campus fit

Choosing UdeM means studying, completing assessments, and navigating most undergraduate academic life in French. Meeting the admission threshold is the starting point; applicants should also plan for the reading, writing, discussion, and professional vocabulary their program demands.

Mountain campus

The historic main campus on Mount Royal includes many arts, social science, health, student-service, athletics, and residence spaces.

MIL science campus

MIL houses major science activity, including chemistry, physics, geography, and biological sciences. A science applicant should confirm which courses occur there.

Regional campuses

Laval and other sites host selected complete or partial programs. The program description—not the university name alone—determines where a student will study.

If the priority is an English-language undergraduate experience in Montréal, compare Concordia University and McGill’s published requirements; committed applicants without French test results can instead plan UdeM’s own francization route. If the priority is French-language engineering, compare Polytechnique Montréal without assuming the application rules are shared.
