STM teaching inside USask credentials
Build a USask degree with a distinct STM liberal-arts focus
STM publishes more than 220 classes in 19 subject areas and contributes distinctive programs in Philosophy, Religion and Culture, social justice and interdisciplinary certificates. The University of Saskatchewan catalogue remains the authority for every credential.
USask Arts and Science degree
Declared STM students remain USask Arts and Science students and can combine STM-taught classes with the wider faculty curriculum.
USask owns admission, program rules and credentials. STM does not give a separate undergraduate degree.
Philosophy
STM contributes a three-year BA, four-year BA, honours and double-honours Philosophy route. Its strengths include ethics and philosophy of religion.
These are USask Arts and Science credentials delivered through an STM academic department.
Religion and Culture
Degree and minor routes look at Asian and Western traditions. They also look at interdisciplinary approaches to religion and culture.
The USask catalogue governs the credential and residency requirements; STM supplies much of the teaching.
Social Justice and the Common Good
The 21-credit minor combines interdisciplinary study with community service-learning pedagogy.
STM coordinates the minor. The USask College of Arts and Science holds the academic authority.
Five STM certificate areas
Catholic Studies, Labour Studies, Peace Studies, Religious Literacy and Ukrainian Studies can complement a degree or, where the catalogue permits, stand alone.
The official USask catalogue controls admission, completion and credential rules for each certificate.
Pre-professional planning
STM advising maps its courses to prepare you for law, medicine, nursing, nutrition, pharmacy, physical therapy, public policy and social work. It maps them to other routes too.
These pathways do not give the later professional credential. They do not guarantee admission to a professional program.
