Processing typically takes four to six weeks, and CUE asks applicants to list at least two Grade 12 course grades—in progress or completed—for early admission consideration.

Students are encouraged to seek out their own internships with the help and support of the Mihalcheon School of Management, with the search beginning in February and March and applications and interviews happening before classes end in April.

CUE's International Office page, updated in April 2026, states that “as of April 1, 2026, co-op work permits are no longer required for international students participating in mandatory work placements,” and that IRCC will withdraw eligible pending applications. The Bachelor of Management internship page and the BSc Information Technology program page still instruct international students to apply for a co-op work permit at least six months in advance and warn that a student “will not be able to complete the internship/field placement without a co-op work permit.”

The International Office page is the newer of the two and is the immigration-specific source, but the program pages have not been updated. Confirm the live rule with CUE International before a placement. CUE asks students needing written confirmation that a placement is mandatory to email registrar@concordia.ab.ca with their name, student ID, program, and request.
