The Athletic and Wellness Centre at Progress
The Athletic and Wellness Centre (AWC) is run by the Centennial College Student Association (CCSAI). It has a gymnasium of about 65,000 square feet that splits into three gyms, used for basketball, soccer, cricket, volleyball, badminton and table tennis. The main court is home to the Centennial Colts.
Upstairs is a fitness centre with cardio machines, weight machines and free weights, plus a 154 m indoor track. There are also two squash courts, two fitness studios and a 24-foot rock wall with auto belay. Centennial's Progress page adds spin bikes and group fitness classes.
- Bring your own lock for the lockers and your own towel for the showers.
- Book squash courts in person at Guest Services or online through the AWC portal.
- Park in Lot 6, where Centennial parking rates apply.
- The AWC site's hours are labelled for a winter term, and its pages list two different rock wall drop-in times. Check both at Guest Services before you go.
Gyms at the other campuses
Downsview has no gym of its own. Centennial says your student card gets you into the gyms at any of its campuses.
| Where | What Centennial lists |
|---|---|
| Morningside | An Athletics and Wellness Centre gym with fitness equipment, studio space and weights |
| Ashtonbee | A gym with basketball and volleyball courts, a fitness centre, weights and cardio equipment. Performing Arts Centre students are pointed here too. |
| Downsview | No campus gym. Centennial points to the sports facilities in Downsview Park, including the hoops dome, a turf field and skating at the Scotiabank Pond. |
| Centennial Place | For residents only: a 24-hour fitness centre with Peloton bikes, strength and cardio equipment, and yoga and dance studios |
Getting in with your myCard
Your myCard is your official Centennial photo ID. Centennial lists AWC access among its uses, with check-in by physical card or on a phone.
To get one, upload a photo at myphoto.centennialcollege.ca. Once you get the approval email, pick up the card at the campus you chose and bring government ID. A virtual myCard is also available in the TouchNet OneCard app.
After you graduate, alumni can join the AWC for $125 plus HST per semester, which includes towel service.
Centennial Colts varsity
Centennial's varsity teams are the Colts. They compete in the Ontario Colleges Athletic Association (OCAA), which lists Centennial as a member school and links to gocolts.ca.
Centennial describes Colts alumni who competed on the court, field, pitch and track. For this season's teams, schedules and tryout details, check gocolts.ca directly.
