UBC Sauder BCom 2027: Admission & Personal Profile
UBC Sauder's Vancouver Bachelor of Commerce is a four-year direct-entry business degree with ten current specializations and optional co-op. For Fall 2027, the UBC application is due January 15, 2027. High-school applicants complete a written Personal Profile with BCom-specific questions and a separate video component. The academic record, written evidence, current curriculum requirements, cost, and co-op model should be assessed separately; none of them promises an admission or employment outcome.

Choose the exact UBC Commerce route
The observed searches ‘UBC Sauder,’ ‘UBC Sauder business,’ and ‘UBC business’ all resolve here because the underlying task is Vancouver BCom planning. UBC also lists a separate Okanagan Commerce route. Confirm campus, faculty, degree, and application choice before comparing requirements or costs.
Vancouver Commerce is a four-year Bachelor of Commerce offered by UBC Sauder. Students build a general business foundation and choose among ten current specializations. The program page also lists optional concentrations, exchange, career support, and optional co-op, but each opportunity has its own eligibility and timing.
Build a Fall 2027 deadline map
UBC says the September 2027 application opens in early October 2026 and is due January 15, 2027 at 11:59 p.m. PST. International Scholars applicants have a November 15, 2026 application and award checkpoint. Canadian citizens and permanent residents seeking named entrance awards have a December 1 checkpoint.
Award consideration, admission, documents, residence, and later offer conditions are separate tasks. Save the submission confirmation and use the Applicant Service Centre for personalized document requirements. Do not reuse the page's embedded 2026 Okanagan extension as a Fall 2027 date.
Separate academic eligibility from holistic review
Applicants must meet UBC's general and curriculum-specific Commerce requirements. The current public page does not publish one universal BCom cutoff, so a forum average is not an official threshold. Record the prerequisites for the applicant's own curriculum and verify how UBC will receive grades.
The Personal Profile gives trained readers evidence about engagement, accomplishment, leadership, substance, and voice. It does not erase an unmet prerequisite. A strong academic record also does not make the required profile optional.
Complete the written Personal Profile
UBC's current public questions include identity and values, up to five activities, a deeper activity reflection, optional academic context, and two Vancouver BCom questions about problem-solving and community impact. Public response fields range from 500–2100 characters, or roughly 50–500 words, depending on the prompt.
Use the UBC Personal Profile guide for a complete evidence-selection and writing workflow. This program page keeps only the Sauder boundary: answer the assigned BCom question, follow the live character counter, and keep written claims consistent with references and the rest of the application.
Prepare for the distinct video component
UBC's application material identifies a video component for Vancouver Commerce in addition to written BCom questions. A timed recorded response tests a different skill from a revisable essay. Use the live application for the current prompt count, preparation time, response time, and technical rules.
Practice short, direct answers rather than memorized scripts. Test the supported browser, camera, microphone, lighting, connection, and quiet space. If accommodations are needed, contact UBC through the official process before beginning a formal response.
Choose and brief two accurate referees
UBC asks for two referees who can comment on readiness for study. One must be able to speak to a long-answer activity. A current high-school applicant must include a school official, and neither referee should be a friend, family member, or paid agent.
UBC says it does not send an automatic reference form at application time and may contact referees after offers. Ask permission, confirm accurate contact details, and provide truthful context. Never coach a reference to support an inflated role, result, or time commitment.
Compare ten specializations after the foundation
The current Commerce page lists ten specializations spanning accounting, technology, entrepreneurship, finance, general management, supply chains, marketing, operations, people, and real estate. The degree label alone does not identify a student's final curriculum.
Open the Academic Calendar before choosing. Compare prerequisite chains, seat or grade conditions, quantitative depth, elective room, professional recognition, and how late a student can change direction. Treat any promotional career example as an illustration, not a promised result.
Read 2026–27 tuition as a dated illustration
UBC's approved 2026–27 table lists domestic Commerce at $206.69 per credit in Year 1 and $306.28 per credit in Years 2–4. For international Commerce entrants beginning in Summer 2026 or later, it lists $2,222.61 per credit. A 30-credit multiplication is an illustration rather than an invoice.
Student, society, health, housing, food, travel, books, and optional program costs sit outside those tuition rows. Fees are reviewed annually. Build a range for Fall 2027 and replace it with the new table and the student's actual Workday assessment when available.
Evaluate optional co-op without assuming a placement
UBC lists co-op as optional. The employer-facing BCom co-op page describes selected students, full-time paid work terms, and a minimum of 420 hours per term. Those facts describe the structure, not automatic entry or a job promise.
Ask when students apply, which academic and professional conditions apply, how many work terms are required, what fees are charged, how self-directed search works, and how an unsuccessful search affects the study plan. Compare that uncertainty with direct alternating co-op and ordinary summer internship models.
Make an evidence-based Sauder decision
Compare Sauder with other business routes using the same criteria: entry model, curriculum, progression risk, work experience, campus, community, four-year cost, exchange, support, and flexibility. Use the Canadian business-program comparison to apply that common method.
A strong choice should still make sense if a preferred specialization, co-op role, scholarship, or career idea changes. Record the evidence and tradeoff behind each preference before offers arrive.
