Canadian University Application Fees for Fall 2027 Planning

OUAC base fee: $159 for three choices

OUAC charges $159 for your first three program choices. It applies to all applicants. That is one central application fee, not $159 for each university. The current schedule doesn't list a separate international service fee. Program and document charges can still depend on your choices and background.

Payment is part of submission. OUAC won't send the application to universities until you pay in full. Starting the form or saving choices doesn't complete that step. Keep the receipt with your application record. The posted refund rule also covers a choice you later withdraw; removing it doesn't return part of the base payment.

OUAC extra-choice fee: $51, with a change-rule exception

Five standard choices cost $261 before add-ons: $159 plus two fees of $51. After payment, replacing a program with another at the same university has no choice fee. Withdrawing a choice at one university and adding a choice at another costs $51. Those are different changes, even if your total number of choices stays the same.

OUAC allows at most three program choices at any one university, including its affiliates. A university can set a lower limit. Check the program before paying for a new choice. Replacing a choice without a choice fee doesn't mean a different faculty's processing fee is waived; those charges belong to the program-fee rule.

EducationPlannerBC: $0 portal fee, school fees still apply

EducationPlannerBC says no fee is charged or paid to the service itself. Each institution sets its application fee and receives the payment. A shared profile doesn't buy unlimited applications to B.C. universities. Check how many program choices your selected institution permits before paying for another application.

UBC's latest posted fee is $78.50 for Canadian citizens or permanent residents. It is $173.25 for international students who need a study permit. You can select two degrees, even on different campuses. Pay the non-refundable fee when you submit. UBC's fee page still has a 2026 deadline. These prices have no cycle label. They are latest available, not confirmed Fall 2027 fees. Another B.C. school has its own fee and refund rule.

• EducationPlannerBC payment help. Confirmed service rule: no fees are charged or paid to EducationPlannerBC; each institution sets and receives its own fee. No common Fall 2027 school fee. Checked October 13, 2026.
• UBC application charge. Latest available yearless $78.50/$173.25 fees, paid at submission and non-refundable. The page still prints a March 31, 2026 Okanagan deadline, so it isn't a clean Fall 2027 fee confirmation. Checked October 13, 2026.

ApplyAlberta: pay each institution; transcript requests are free

ApplyAlberta sends you to the school's portal to finish and pay. All application fees go directly to the school. If you apply to several schools, expect several payments. These instructions don't give one Alberta-wide price. A fee for one school doesn't apply to all of them.

Transcript requests through ApplyAlberta are free. It can order Alberta high school records and records from Alberta colleges or universities in the service. You may need to order other records yourself. This includes studies outside Alberta, or at a school outside the service. Free transfers don't mean free applications or free outside transcripts. For a refund, contact the school you applied to. ApplyAlberta tells you to read that school's refund policy.

McGill: $140.16, with a second application at no extra cost

McGill's current undergraduate instructions list $140.16. Pay for the first application before using the second-application rule. The second application costs no extra only if both are for the same term and undergraduate level. Every further application carries another $140.16 fee. That rule doesn't let you use a paid fall application as a free application for a different term.

The fee is non-refundable. After submission and payment, you can review the document list in the McGill Applicant Portal. This is the undergraduate fee, not the separate Medicine or Dentistry route. McGill's checked page doesn't attach a Fall 2027 fee year to the amount. Keep it as the latest published reference and recheck the payment screen before submitting. A price in an older screenshot doesn't override the official charge.

• McGill undergraduate application fee. Latest available yearless $140.16 fee: non-refundable; second same-term undergraduate application costs no extra; later applications cost $140.16 each. Fall 2027 fee isn't separately labelled. Checked October 13, 2026.

Supplement and document fees are separate charges

McMaster confirms a $50 Faculty of Engineering supplement fee for Fall 2027. You pay it through OUAC, where it appears as a program fee. One supplement covers Engineering, Computer Science, iBioMed and Bachelor of Technology. OUAC also lists $60 for Waterloo Engineering. These faculty charges aren't the same as the $51 price of another program choice.

Document evaluation is a separate charge for checking records. OUAC lists it mainly for Group B. Exceptions are stated in the table. It collects the fee once per university, including affiliates. Current examples are $98 for Toronto and $95 for Waterloo. OCAD's row explicitly lists $25 for Group A or $90 for Group B. Exemptions can depend on your education and choices. Don't multiply that fee by each program at the same university. Don't add it to every Ontario high school application. Read the exceptions first.

An assessment provider can charge separately from OUAC. For Casper, Acuity lists a base test fee and a charge for each program receiving results. The exact amount depends on your selected test information. We haven't confirmed a single Fall 2027 amount here. Its fee help says payments are non-refundable and can't transfer to another cycle. Review the test details before the reservation payment step. Paying for the wrong cycle doesn't create a refund. Use the official finder linked from the Casper guide.

Transcript fees: paid per requested record

OUAC collects transcript request fees for Ontario schools. Its list was updated September 1, 2026. Each price is for one requested transcript. Carleton and McMaster list $0, Toronto lists $18.75 and Western lists $30. You pay for the school to send a record. This isn't the fee for another school to evaluate your documents.

The list says fees can change without notice and are non-refundable. Add the request charge to your budget when it applies. Keep it separate from a faculty supplement, an extra program choice or a later tuition deposit. ApplyAlberta's free transcript service has its own coverage, so don't copy that rule to an Ontario request.
