Direct BBA and preparatory year are different entry routes
HEC Montréal does not apply one universal high-school average to every applicant. Quebec DEC students can enter the 90-credit BBA directly. Most Canadian and international secondary-school applicants use the 30-credit preparatory year, while direct BBA applicants from outside Quebec normally bring a qualifying university or preparatory year.

BBA structure and program fit
One BBA, two admission lengths, multiple academic pathways
The direct route is a 90-credit, three-year BBA. The preparatory route adds 30 credits and one year, then leads into the same BBA. Within the degree, students complete a broad management core before the specialization, mixed-option, or personalized phase.

The official program rules allow a combined maximum of 12 program credits from internships, project courses, and Campus Abroad. This includes no more than nine internship credits. The trading room adds 21 Bloomberg terminals and market simulations. These are for the BBA and other HEC programs.

HEC has a residence, but only 40 rooms and no broad guarantee
Darlington gives priority to international and out-of-Montréal BBA students in first year or the preparatory year. For 2026–2027, its first-come, first-served rooms filled after the April pre-registration event. So an applicant should plan an off-campus alternative.
