Compare prerequisites and course progression by campus

Québec, Saint-Lambert, Sherbrooke, Québec

The examples below show different pre-university and technical routes. Admission prerequisites, COE status and the intake’s course grid all matter.

Saint-Lambert: program requirements

Saint-Lambert: Compare pre-university study, designed to prepare for university, with three-year technical study combining a specialty and general education. Computer Science Technology is one current technical example; it is not a prerequisite template for every Champlain program.

The Computer Science Technology page requires a Quebec Secondary School Diploma or an equivalent level recognized by the college, plus Mathematics TS/SN4 or CST5. It describes programming, databases, networks and security, with data science, cloud computing and AI-assisted development added in its 2026 revision. The page links a 2027–28 brochure and separate program grids for higher- and lower-proficiency COE holders and students without a COE. Check the relevant grid because courses may change.

Champlain requires a letter of intent for Nursing applicants and applicants who have spent one or more semesters outside full-time study. Explain your program choice and any relevant interruption or difficulty in your academic record. Other programs may have their own prerequisite tests or document requests; use their own pages and your admission letter.

Lennoxville: Science and Transition

Lennoxville: the current Science 200.B1 General profile page lists Chemistry 534 or 551504, Mathematics 536 or 564506 or 565506 (TS or SN Level 5), and Physics 534 or 553504. Separate certificate-holder and non-certificate-holder grids run across four semesters, with Programming in Science in semester two and the integrative science project in semester four.

Lennoxville’s Transition / Springboard route can help if you are missing prerequisites, waiting for a winter cohort or unsure of your program. It offers general-education and permitted program courses; the college says most credits can count toward a pre-university or technical program. Confirm the selected courses with Academic Advising: this is not admission to every destination program or a university credit promise.

St. Lawrence: Science and Business

St. Lawrence: Science 200.B1 has fall entry and a two-year duration. Its page requires Chemistry 534 or equivalent, Physics 534 or equivalent, and Mathematics TS or SN 5. The Health Science profile (200.B5) includes human physiology and organic chemistry; Pure & Applied Science (200.B6) allows science/mathematics options. The first-year prerequisites are shared, and the college says students can switch profiles during first year. Choose second-year options around the receiving university’s requirements.

At St. Lawrence, Science grids differ for non-certificate holders and COE holders at French levels 1–2 or 3–4. Business 410.G0 is a three-year fall-entry technical program governed by the college’s general admission requirements. Its current page still says final Fall 2026 course sequences are forthcoming during a revision, despite displaying grids. Ask Academic Advising for your cohort’s confirmed sequence before relying on the displayed order.

Decision checklist

  • Use the named campus’s instructions and your current program/cohort.
  • Open the exact program page before treating a prerequisite as universal.
  • Ask whether prior courses will be integrated before planning a shortened route.
  • Keep pre-university and technical DEC outcomes distinct in university planning.

Plan your next step

Reopen the exact official program page for your intake and applicant category. Save the requirement, cost, campus, and deadline evidence you used, then confirm any uncertainty with the institution.
