The University of the Fraser Valley treats Ontario secondary-school graduation as equal to a BC high-school diploma. Admission is still program-specific. UFV uses different course floors and selection methods. It also uses different intakes and extra evidence. This applies to Science, Business, Computing, Kinesiology, Nursing, Arts, and limited-entry programs.

UFV accepts the International Baccalaureate diploma, the Adult Basic Education provincial diploma, the BC Adult Graduation diploma, and the GED as equivalents. The BSN requires English Studies 12 or English First Peoples 12 at a minimum B. Or it requires ENGL 105 at C. It also requires Anatomy and Physiology 12 or Biology 12, Chemistry 11, and an approved Grade 11 mathematics. Each must be at a minimum C+ and completed within five years of enrolment. Applicants also need at least 30 hours of volunteer work with adults or children. This must be in an acute care, long-term care, or community health care agency. They need a letter of reference, the Casper situational judgment test, Standard First Aid and Basic Rescuer Level C, and immunizations before the program starts. Selection scores academic history up to 16 points, experience and reference up to 7, and Casper up to 16. The Fall deadline is January 31 and the Winter deadline is August 1.

Accepted tests are valid for two years. They include TOEFL iBT 88 with no section below 20. They include IELTS Academic 6.5 with no band below 6.0. They include Duolingo English Test 110, CAEL 70, and PTE Academic 61 with at least 60 in Writing. They include CLBPT 9 overall with no skill below 8, MELAB 85, Cambridge CPE grade C, and Cambridge CAE grade A. They include LPI essay 30 (level 5) and EIKEN grade 1. UFV also exempts applicants who complete at least three years of formal, full-time study. That study must be at a secondary or post-secondary institution where English is the primary language. Engineering Common Core is a certificate. It covers first-year engineering with transfer options. It is not a four-year UFV engineering degree. Admission to the Engineering Physics diploma in Mechatronics is unavailable until further notice. Confirm the transfer and grade rules of the destination university.

UFV describes the Engineering Common Core as first-year engineering at UFV with transfer options. So it should not be read as a four-year UFV engineering degree. Transfer remains subject to the receiving institution's rules. UFV's engineering page also states that admission to the Engineering Physics diploma in Mechatronics is unavailable until further notice.

UFV offers a four-year Bachelor of Agricultural Science with a Horticulture major. This major meets the academic requirements for the Professional Agrologist (P.Ag.) designation. UFV also offers a two-year Agriculture Technology diploma. This diploma meets part of the Technical Agrologist (T.Ag.) requirements. UFV also offers a Livestock Production certificate that 'will ladder into the Agricultural Technology Diploma, Livestock concentration'. UFV also offers a Horticulture Crop Production and Protection certificate, from which 'you can ladder into the diploma or degree'. UFV also offers a BBA for Agriculture Management.

UFV's Agriculture Centre of Excellence is at the Chilliwack campus. It has two polyethene greenhouses. It has a barn with livestock, milking, poultry, and swine areas. It also has a greenhouse with multi-wall polycarbonate construction. UFV also describes greenhouses, outdoor growing space, and a barn used for student training. It also describes field trips to working agriculture operations.
UFV's public agriculture pages do not claim to be the only agriculture program in BC. They do not claim to be the first either. Do not repeat that framing without a source.

UFV lists a Bachelor of Science in Nursing. It lists an 'LPN access to BSN' route for licensed practical nurses. It also lists a Practical Nursing diploma. So a practical-nursing credential can be laddered toward the degree.
The nursing landing page does not state which campus delivers each credential. UFV's campus page places nursing stations and the dental clinic at Chilliwack. So confirm the delivery site for the specific intake.

The Faculty of Applied and Technical Studies runs foundation and apprenticeship programs. They are at the Trades and Technology Centre in Chilliwack. Programs include Automotive Service Technician, Automotive Collision Repair and Refinishing, and Carpentry. They also include Cabinetmaking (Joinery), Construction Electrician, Heavy Mechanical, Plumbing, and Professional Cook. Others are Welding, Architectural drafting, Automation and Robotics, and Electronics Technician. UFV describes the centre as shops and kitchens. Trades-to-degree route via the Trades Management BBA

UFV publishes a Bachelor of Business Administration in Trades Management. It is for people 'currently employed in a trade' who want to move into management. It combines bridging courses with the core business curriculum. The bridging courses are business math, statistics, writing, and management techniques.
The program page does not say how a Red Seal or apprenticeship credential turns into transfer credit. So check block-credit recognition with a UFV advisor before you assume a shortened degree.

The page also lists an Engineering Physics diploma in Mechatronics. It carries the notice 'Admission to this program is unavailable until further notice.' UFV does not publish a four-year professional engineering degree.
The receiving university decides transfer credit. The Mechatronics closure has no published reopening date. Re-check before you plan around either route.

Lá:léms Ye EverGreen is UFV's newest student building with six storeys, ten study rooms, six social spaces, a ceremony space, four-bedroom suites, and single and studio suites. Lá:lem te Baker is a four-storey traditional-style building with shared kitchens and lounges and two-bedroom suites. Both offer private, fully furnished rooms with utilities and Wi-Fi included, shared kitchens, lounges, and study space, and 24/7 on-call support.

Cascades and the Abbotsford athletics facilities

Building E on the Abbotsford campus holds the Summit Fitness Centre (E100). It needs a Peak Pass membership or drop-in pass. It also holds the 8,200 square foot North Gym (E150), used for open gym, social sports, and fitness classes. It also holds the 21,500 square foot South Gym (E176). That is a double-court gymnasium with retractable seating for 1,500. It is the home of the Cascades varsity program for practices and games. The Cave fitness studio at the south end supports recreational classes and varsity high-performance training.
ufv.ca does not publish the Cascades team list, conference, or schedule — its athletics link points to the separate Cascades site, so verify sport-by-sport details there before planning a recruiting conversation.

There is also a $3.40 Experiential Learning & Wellness fee, which is 2% of tuition. That comes to $190.33 per credit. This is up from $186.60 in 2025-26. A three-credit course costs $570.99. A four-credit course costs $761.32. A 12-credit semester costs $2,283.96. These amounts are before student union and society fees.
UFV counts 9 credits per semester as full time. UFV describes 15 credits as the standard load. That load finishes a bachelor's degree in four years. So scale the per-credit rate to your real load.

The Chancellor's Entrance Scholarship pays $10,000 in year one. That is $5,000 per semester, and the second is conditional on a 3.5 GPA. It renews for up to three more years, to a maximum of $40,000. It requires an overall A average or 4.0 GPA in all Grade 12 courses. It requires full-time enrolment of 12 or more credits per semester in the year immediately following Grade 12. It also requires Canadian citizenship or permanent residence. The UFV/Community Endowment Entrance Scholarship pays $5,000 per year, to a $20,000 maximum, at the same A/4.0 bar. The President's Entrance Scholarship is four awards of $4,000 each, renewable to $16,000, at a B average or 3.0 GPA. UFV also lists an International Baccalaureate Diploma Scholarship of $4,000 per year to $16,000 at 30 IB points. UFV also lists a $3,000 Excellence Entrance Scholarship for students from UFV-region schools.

A degree co-op designation needs a minimum of three and a maximum of six work terms. A diploma designation needs a minimum of two and a maximum of four. Each completed full-time work term is worth six credits and runs roughly four months. The maximum is four consecutive work terms (16 months) provided two fall in summer.
