The Career Development + Work Integrated Learning office supports students and alumni with one-on-one advising, career exploration, workshops, and information sessions covering resumes, cover letters, portfolios, job-search strategy, and interview preparation. It administers the Work Experience Program and provides access to The Leeway, ECU's job and mentorship platform carrying job postings, internships, exhibitions, artist calls, residencies, collaborations, and peer networking. The Shumka Centre for Creative Entrepreneurship exists to foster 'the movement of artists and designers into systems and situations where their work and ideas can have the most impact.' Its two currently listed programs are Design for Startups, which pairs emerging designers with early-to-mid-stage technology startups on a specific design problem, and the Art Apprenticeship Network, which connects emerging ECU artists with established artists, curators, and cultural workers.
