SAIT’s published 2026–27 academic-year residence dates are August 29, 2026 to April 24, 2027. The agreement can end earlier, on the day after your last exam, unless an approved arrangement changes your dates. A first-time applicant pays a $100 non-refundable application fee and a $200 security deposit before acceptance; residents also pay a $60 Residence Life Activity Fee and an $85 Insurance Fee. Room types and payment plans differ.
Begin Tower has private studios and two-bedroom, one-bathroom suites priced per bedroom and person. East Hall has one-bedroom and four-bedroom suites. The page lists kitchens or kitchen facilities within the room layouts; confirm the exact floor plan before choosing. Residence fees are separate from tuition, and government loans are not sent directly to Residence.
Academic-year residents must maintain full-time status, defined on the application page as nine or more course credits each semester. The signed agreement also controls eligibility and occupancy conditions. SAIT accepts applications year-round and sends offers as spaces become available, so applying does not guarantee a room. Meal plans are optional. Returning residents still apply, but the application fee is waived and the security deposit is held for the next year.
Cancellation can create a substantial charge. The 2026–27 academic-year agreement charges occupied days on a prorated basis plus 5% of total housing fees before August 1, 15% after August 1 but before September 1, or 25% after September 1. As checked September 12, the 25% band was the current academic-year band. Read the agreement you sign for the final obligation and use the payment date in your offer or current Housing Hub if applying after the published full-year due date.
