Apply through SRAM for the correct intake

John Abbott uses SRAM for regular applications. Its current page gives March 1 for fall and November 1 for winter, with winter applications limited to intensive Nursing and certain pre-university programs. Submit the application, documents and payment by the applicable deadline, then confirm the program is accepting that intake in SRAM.

Understand English eligibility and French requirements

All applicants may apply whether or not they hold a Certificate of Eligibility for English instruction. John Abbott's Fall 2025 Law 14 guidance says certificate holders and non-holders applying by March 1 are treated equally. After March 1, qualified certificate holders receive priority in programs that still have space.

The same guidance says every student takes five French courses, with the mix of French-language and program courses depending on certificate status. Certificate holders take the English Exit Exam; students without a certificate take the French Exit Exam. These are study and graduation rules, not a reason to claim that non-certificate holders cannot apply.

Check Quebec admission and fee status

The general Quebec admission route requires the listed secondary diploma subjects or a qualifying vocational diploma; individual programs can add prerequisites. For the Fall 2026 acceptance cycle, the college told students without Quebec resident status that an additional $1,780 per-semester tuition charge applied and could change. Treat that amount as latest-available for that cycle and verify the next invoice rather than projecting it forward.

Decision checklist

  • Confirm whether your program accepts winter applicants.
  • Submit every document and payment in the same round.
