Saskatchewan Polytechnic housing by campus

Saskatoon, Regina, Prince Albert, Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan

Prince Albert has limited Sask Polytech housing; students at all four campus cities should compare the official city referrals and verify the provider's current terms.

Match the search to your campus city

Start with the campus attached to your program. Sask Polytech publishes separate housing pages for Moose Jaw, Prince Albert, Regina and Saskatoon, and each points to the Students' Association housing registry and private listings. This is a referral system rather than one common residence offer. Verify who owns or manages a listing, whether a place is still available and which address you would commute to before paying.

Check Prince Albert eligibility and timing

Prince Albert is the exception: Sask Polytech operates 36 furnished two-bedroom townhouse units, including two wheelchair-accessible suites. To qualify, one adult must study full time at a minimum 60% course load, family income cannot exceed $52,000 yearly, and utilities must be placed in the tenant's name. Applications open May 1 each year and require income verification plus proof of full-time status. The page still says 2025–26 units were assigned with a substantial waitlist while also accepting future applications, so ask Facilities Management which intake and waitlist currently apply.

Budget Prince Albert's published costs

For 2026–27, the Prince Albert page lists $661 monthly rent and a $650 damage deposit for new tenants before move-in. Tenants pay utilities, phone, internet and cable. The contract sets occupancy dates according to program length; multi-year students may qualify for year-round occupancy. Apprenticeship students can ask about special rates, but the page gives no amount. Treat these as Prince Albert terms only.

Compare each city's referred options

Regina's page refers Sask Polytech students to University of Regina housing and Luther College, as well as private rentals. Moose Jaw students may also apply to University of Regina housing, but Sask Polytech recommends searching in Moose Jaw first. It estimates the drive at about one hour and warns that winter conditions can extend it, with limited public transportation between the cities. Saskatoon's page lists two affiliated residences and a homestay option whose applications should be submitted at least six weeks before classes. Provider eligibility, availability, fees and cancellation rules must be checked directly.

Verify the rental agreement before paying

For a private tenancy covered by Saskatchewan's Residential Tenancies Act, ask for a written agreement before committing. The government page says a written agreement must identify the landlord and tenant, unit address, start date, and fixed-term end date when applicable. It must also state the rent amount and due date, utilities and included services, plus the security deposit and payment date. Keep that document and any payment record. If you are unsure whether the Act covers an arrangement, use the current government guidance or ask the Office of Residential Tenancies. Sask Polytech's student engagement coordinators can help students navigate the city resources, but a referral does not confirm a vacancy or contract terms.

Decision checklist

  • Confirm the program campus and realistic commute.
  • Ask the provider about current availability and deadlines.
  • Get rent, utilities, deposit and contract dates in writing.
  • Keep a backup if applying for limited Prince Albert housing.
