FQFA and competitive admission routes

Most Sask Polytech programs use First Qualified/First Admitted. FQFA applications open September 1 each year, and offer order follows the date an applicant fully meets the requirements. Business Information Systems requires Grade 12 with any 30-level mathematics course or the ICTC FIT certificate, plus the English Language Requirement. Alternative assessment may apply, but some specific requirements still must be met.

Practical Nursing uses competitive admission rather than FQFA and opens October 1 each academic year. Accepted students face clinical-entry conditions including a criminal record and vulnerable-sector check, first aid and BLS-HCP CPR, immunization records and N95 mask testing. A practicum agency can decline access based on the record check, which can prevent completion of the program.

The non-refundable application fee is $100 domestic or $150 international and applies to each program-and-location application. After acceptance, the non-refundable tuition deposit is $600 for domestic applicants, $5,000 for an international applicant's first program and $2,500 for a subsequent program. Bundled programs assess those amounts at the corresponding program stage. Use the offer and applicant portal for the actual payment deadline.
