Application portals and Brightspace

For application status and acceptance after submission, use the Student Information System for Fall 2026 and Spring 2027. The Langara Admissions Portal covers Summer 2027 and later. These are separate from EducationPlanner BC, where the online application begins. Follow the College’s email to activate or access your account.

Brightspace is the course-learning hub. Sign in with your Langara email and check My Courses or the Course Selector. If a class is missing, first confirm your registration and check when the instructor makes the course available. A Brightspace problem is not a reason to submit a second application; use the linked student technology guidance for account and course-access help.

Gym, outdoor recreation and clubs

Campus Recreation offers Open Gym and intramurals for current students and employees. Intramurals are free with current Langara ID; sign in and wear appropriate gym or running shoes. Borrow sports equipment with your ID. Open Gym allows activities requiring little setup, such as basketball shooting, stretching and volleyball rallying without nets. Check the current schedule before travelling for a specific activity.

Outdoor Recreation runs in the May–July summer semester on the front lawn. Activities include Spikeball, cornhole, ladderball and chess, with soccer and volleyball equipment available to borrow. The Chess League accepts current students and staff at different skill levels with rolling registration. These participation routes are separate from trying out for a Falcons varsity team.

Use the student-club directory to find current groups and their contact channels. The roster changes, so check whether a group is active this semester. Clubs are student-led and need at least ten student members. Official recognition gives access to College spaces and support; the directory links the process for starting a group if an existing one does not fit.

VOLT: find a role and verify hours

VOLT recognises eligible volunteer activity; joining does not assign you a role. You must be registered in at least one Langara course each participating semester and apply directly to the host organisation. Off-campus hours must be with a nonprofit, charity or public-service organisation; unpaid for-profit work is excluded. Log completed hours in MyImpact and submit the verification form for supervisor approval within one academic semester. Student Engagement records GO Team and Event Volunteer hours directly.

Library spaces and academic help

The Library has eight group-study rooms, four Smart Tables and two mini-theatres for presentation practice. Advance booking requires an active student account and opens up to 14 days ahead. Groups need at least two people and may reserve two hours per group each day. Arriving more than 15 minutes late forfeits the booking. Individuals can use unbooked space but must yield to groups.

The Academic Success Centre offers free subject tutoring, peer academic coaching, writing help and technology support. Tech Tutors cover Brightspace, Microsoft Office and BCAP 1200; the centre also links a self-paced Student Success Course. Use its current booking and subject schedules to find the right help rather than assuming every tutor is available every day.

Decision checklist

  • Use application-status tools and Brightspace for their different tasks.
  • Bring current ID for recreation and check the session schedule.
  • Reserve Library space for course-related group work and arrive on time.

Plan your next step

Reopen the exact official program page for your intake and applicant category. Save the requirement, cost, campus, and deadline evidence you used, then confirm any uncertainty with the institution.
