Langara College

Apply through EducationPlanner BC. Domestic applicants can also use the College’s paper form by mail or in person. From June 1, 2026, each application carries a non-refundable fee: $40 domestic or $155 international. Applicants are limited to one application per intake for a single program, with one Additional Program of Interest at no extra fee.

Langara says the application-status email normally arrives within 3–10 business days. Transcripts and supporting documents can follow the application. For terms before Summer 2027, use the Student Information System. For the Summer 2027 term or later, use the Langara Admissions Portal. Follow your offer email to accept. Then follow the registration instructions. International applicants must also pay the required deposit. The College must get this deposit first. Then it issues the acceptance and provincial attestation letters.

Domestic applications normally open 11 months before the semester. They open on February 1, June 1 or October 1. They can remain open until classes fill or begin. This is unless the program sets an earlier deadline. International general deadlines are September 30 for Spring, January 31 for Summer and May 31 for Fall. Program deadlines override this pattern. Applications may close early without notice.

The current application page extends Nursing Practice in Canada’s Spring 2027 deadline to September 30, 2026 for domestic and international applicants. Applied Science for Engineering lists May 15 for its Fall intake; Nursing lists January 31 for Fall and May 31 for Spring. Check the specific intake before treating a recurring month/day as your deadline.

Computer Science leads to an Associate of Science Degree. Computer Studies leads to a diploma. The associate degree page lists open enrolment, a two-year minimum, full-time or part-time study and an optional co-op component. If further study is your goal, compare the receiving university's requirements. The credential name alone does not establish transfer credit.

Internet and Web Technology is a shorter certificate with limited enrolment. It focuses on web development and computing. It lists full-time study and January, May or September starts. The College says a Fall start can finish in three consecutive semesters. Another start can take longer. Prior computing knowledge is not required. But the program's Admissions tab still controls general and language eligibility.

Apply at least two months before your program starts. Homestay can begin up to three days before the program report date; arrange separate accommodation if you arrive earlier. For optional airport pickup, submit flight details and payment at least two weeks before arrival. The program serves Regular and Continuing Studies students; short-term students should request their own fee details.

The current program page lists $1,450 per month, a $580 placement fee and a $155 administration fee each semester, in Canadian dollars. First and last months are payable in advance. Optional airport pickup is $160 and custodian service is $550. These are the published rates retrieved September 13, 2026; the page does not name a future academic cycle. Request the application package and written cancellation terms before paying.

Do not budget from Langara’s older international living-cost tables: those are labelled 2021–2022 or 2012–2022 and show different Homestay figures. For an independent rental, compare the full commute, utilities, meal costs and lease conditions. Langara’s housing-resources page provides search guidance but does not inspect or endorse each third-party listing.

Campus Recreation offers Open Gym and intramurals for current students and employees. Intramurals are free with current Langara ID; sign in and wear appropriate gym or running shoes. Borrow sports equipment with your ID. Open Gym allows activities requiring little setup, such as basketball shooting, stretching and volleyball rallying without nets. Check the current schedule before travelling for a specific activity.

Outdoor Recreation runs in the May–July summer semester on the front lawn. Activities include Spikeball, cornhole, ladderball and chess, with soccer and volleyball equipment available to borrow. The Chess League accepts current students and staff at different skill levels with rolling registration. These participation routes are separate from trying out for a Falcons varsity team.

Use the student-club directory to find current groups and their contact channels. The roster changes, so check whether a group is active this semester. Clubs are student-led and need at least ten student members. Official recognition gives access to College spaces and support; the directory links the process for starting a group if an existing one does not fit.

VOLT recognises eligible volunteer activity; joining does not assign you a role. You must be registered in at least one Langara course each participating semester and apply directly to the host organization. Off-campus hours must be with a nonprofit, charity or public-service organization; unpaid for-profit work is excluded. Log completed hours in MyImpact and submit the verification form for supervisor approval within one academic semester. Student Engagement records GO Team and Event Volunteer hours directly.

The Library has eight group-study rooms, four Smart Tables and two mini-theatres for presentation practice. Advance booking requires an active student account and opens up to 14 days ahead. Groups need at least two people and may reserve two hours per group each day. Arriving more than 15 minutes late forfeits the booking. Individuals can use unbooked space but must yield to groups.

The Academic Success Centre offers free subject tutoring, peer academic coaching, writing help and technology support. Tech Tutors cover Brightspace, Microsoft Office and BCAP 1200; the centre also links a self-paced Student Success Course. Use its current booking and subject schedules to find the right help rather than assuming every tutor is available every day.

Langara renamed its Co-op and Career Development Centre in September 2026. It is now the Centre for Career and Work-Integrated Learning (CCWIL). Its services extend beyond students enrolled in a co-op option: use the C3 Job Board, career workshops and application-support resources while planning your next step. The centre connects students with resources and employers; it does not guarantee an offer.

Current career workshops cover resumes, cover letters, job search, LinkedIn, informational interviews and interview preparation. Online sessions require registration. Resume reviews use first-come access. Online reviews are limited to one person and 30 minutes. The current schedule lists in-person drop-ins in C Building, room C121. Bring your resume on paper or a laptop. Check the current schedule.

For Computer Studies co-op, the published admission conditions include at least nine program credits. They also include a 2.6 GPA (grade point average) each term. They include an employability interview. They include a C or better in EXPE 2300. Ask the program or CCWIL about the work-term sequence. Ask about available opportunities. Do this before arranging housing or leaving another job. Completing admission conditions is different from securing a placement.

For university transfer, start with the exact Langara course code. Also start with the year completed. Also start with the intended receiving institution. Use the BC Transfer Guide. Check the receiving institution's policies for minimum grades. Check its course-age limits. Check whether the credit satisfies its program admission or graduation requirements. Institutions may request course outlines, transcripts and their own assessment forms. If your destination is absent from the search tool, contact it directly about credit assessment.
