College planning

Canadore College Guide

Start with the program page. Campus, intake, cost and experiential requirements change the practical plan.

Choose the campus attached to the program

Canadore’s official locations page identifies three North Bay campuses—College Drive, Commerce Court and Aviation—and a West Parry Sound campus. It describes College Drive as the Education Centre campus on a wooded escarpment. A program page names its delivery campus. Do not assume that a service, residence or specialized lab at one location is available at every campus.

Build a program-specific budget

Program pages combine credential, duration, intake, campus, admission requirements, curriculum and fees. Digital Media, for example, is a two-year Ontario College Diploma at College Drive. Its 2026–27 domestic rows separate tuition, ancillary, material and trip charges by year. Use that structure as a reading model. Then open the exact chosen program rather than transferring its amounts to another credential.

Plan early for placements and support

Canadore describes curricular experiential learning as part of all full-time programs, but its form varies among labs, simulations, projects, placements, practicums and apprenticeships. Programs with external placements may add police checks, health documentation, certification, travel and other costs. Contact Student Success early for accommodations and the program placement contact for clearance requirements.

Decision checklist

  • Confirm the campus and intake on the exact program page.
  • Copy the program-specific fee components and study period.
  • Start accommodation and placement-clearance planning before deadlines.

Canadore College Admissions

Applicants follow different routes. This depends on if you are domestic, internal, international or mature. You must still check the requirements for your chosen program.

Use the correct applicant route

Domestic high-school, college and university applicants apply through Ontario Colleges. Canadore's program application instructions say you may pick up to five programs. At one college, you may pick no more than three. Applications open November 1. February 1 is the competitive-consideration date. Applications can go on after that date. Program availability and competition matter. Confirm an offer through OntarioColleges.ca.

Meet program and language requirements

Current or former Canadore students use the internal application. They confirm an internal offer with Admissions. Mature applicants may be considered when they are 19 or older by the program start. They must lack an OSSD (your Ontario high school diploma) or equivalent. They must still complete program prerequisites. International applicants use the international portal. They provide translated transcripts. They meet the higher applicable program or study-permit English standard.

Confirm the offer and keep the seat active

An international offer becomes a reserved seat after the required payment is received. Missing the payment schedule can make the offer inactive. The seat can then go to a waitlisted applicant. Domestic and international payment dates are not interchangeable. Registration generally stays open through the tenth day of class. Canadore's admissions FAQ names Aviation programs as an exception.

Example: nursing degree requirements

The Honours Bachelor of Science in Nursing shows how program rules add to the general route. Its next listed intake is fall 2027 at College Drive in North Bay. You need an OSSD or equivalent with six 4U or 4M credits, including English, biology, math and chemistry, and at least a 70% average. Once you're registered, keep fees current: Canadore's important dates list a $150 late fee for each term an account is overdue.

Decision checklist

  • Choose Ontario Colleges, internal, international or mature routing.
  • Check every subject, document and English requirement on the program page.
  • Confirm the offer and follow the payment schedule for that applicant category.

Canadore College Programs

Compare programs by credential, campus, intake, curriculum and fees. Also compare required hands-on work.

Compare credential, intake and campus

Canadore's catalogue covers many types of study. It has certificates, diplomas and advanced diplomas. It also has degrees, graduate certificates, apprenticeships and part-time study. Delivery and intake depend on the program. Business lists Commerce Court and online delivery. It starts in September. The Honours Bachelor of Science, Nursing page describes a degree. That degree has a mandatory placement. A similar subject name does not mean the same campus, credential or schedule.

Read the complete program fee row

Read the whole fee table for your applicant category and academic year. The Digital Media 2026–27 domestic example separates tuition and ancillary fees in both years. It adds a first-year material fee and a second-year trip fee. Those rows show why a headline tuition figure is incomplete. They also show why another program's total cannot be an estimate without a clear label.

Check experiential requirements before enrolling

Experiential learning can mean a skills lab, simulation or applied research. It can also mean a capstone, field placement, clinical placement or apprenticeship. Nursing students complete mandatory placements. They pay their own transportation to assigned sites. This may require travel to nearby communities. Placement-clearance requirements and costs vary by program and host. Check the program package before accepting an offer.

Example: the nursing degree's four-year cost

The nursing degree lists 2026–27 fees for all four years at College Drive. Domestic students pay $6,481.08 in tuition each year, and with ancillary and material fees year 1 totals $8,318.35. International tuition is $23,790.40 a year, so year 1 totals $25,997.95. Clinical practicums run through every year, ending with a preceptorship, and you also budget for items such as duty shoes.

Canadore College Tuition and Aid

Separate program fees, tuition deposits, refund deductions and aid eligibility before deciding what amount is recoverable.

Read the current payment calendar

Canadore says costs vary by program and can include tuition, ancillary and incidental fees. Its current calendar lists Fall 2026 deposit timing on June 1 and a final due date of August 4. Winter 2027 lists November 16 and November 30, while Summer 2027 lists no deposit and a March 30 final date. International students must use the amounts and dates on page two of their Letter of Acceptance.

Preserve the domestic deposit-date conflict

The same official fee page also retains domestic refund text calling $250 a non-refundable deposit due June 15. That conflicts with the Fall 2026 calendar's June 1 deposit date. Confirm the individualized fee statement or Admissions instruction before paying; do not silently substitute either date. The $250 is applied to the student account, but its non-refundable treatment matters when withdrawing.

Understand domestic and OSAP refunds

For eligible domestic full-time withdrawals within ten business days of the semester start, the published rule refunds current-period tuition and ancillary fees less $250 and refunds prepaid later semesters. A formal withdrawal is required. For OSAP students, the refund less the non-refundable charge goes to the National Student Loans Service Centre. After ten days, current-semester charges are non-refundable while prepaid later semesters remain refundable.

Check international refund conditions

For an international visa refusal before the tenth day, proof must be submitted within 60 calendar days of receipt of the refusal for the applicable LOA and term; a $300 administration charge applies. Other international non-attendance or deferral after the LOA start, or withdrawal within ten business days, forfeits the $2,700 deposit. International requests use the current policy and OCAS route.

Use awards and aid by eligibility

Canadore routes students to OSAP, entrance awards, bursaries and scholarships, but eligibility and windows differ. Its financial-support page describes entrance awards for first-year Ontario residents enrolled full time, an October bursary application period, and a November-to-December scholarship period. The same page warns that funds are limited, so an application is not confirmed funding and students should plan resources before attendance.

Decision checklist

  • Use the exact program fee row and applicant payment notice.
  • Ask Admissions to resolve the published June 1 versus June 15 domestic deposit dates.
  • Submit the formal withdrawal and apply the domestic, OSAP or international rule.
  • Match award eligibility and application period; do not budget an unconfirmed award.

Canadore College Student Life

Contact the service by name. Confirm that it is offered on your campus. Do not assume every support works the same way at every location.

Arrange academic accommodations

Start Strong is for new Canadore students. You may be entering from high school, returning after time away, or starting postsecondary study for the first time. Its D2L learning experience is self-paced. It is available throughout the academic year. It is open to all newly registered students. The current page also offers meetings with a Student Success or Accessibility Advisor, campus exploration options and a Parent and Supporter Information Session.

Use learning and mental-health supports

The student-resources directory links students to many services. These include mental-health services, peer tutoring, testing, iSucceed, library services, the bookstore, Indigenous supports, athletics, the Students' Council and financial aid. These links are service entry points. They do not prove that every service has staff at every campus. They do not prove that every service is open at every hour. Use the current service page for booking, emergency and eligibility instructions.

Match services to the campus

Campus logistics differ. College Drive lists outdoor gathering areas, a multi-faith meditation room and a light-therapy lounge open to all Canadore students. Aviation, Commerce Court and West Parry Sound have separate addresses and campus toolkit routes. International student support also lists campus-specific offices. Confirm the location before you travel. This matters most when a program is based outside College Drive.

Mental Health Navigators

Mental Health Navigators offer short-term, confidential support that's free for students, and you book through the virtual front desk. Canadore also publishes a Student Mental Health and Well-Being Strategy report.

Students' Council, health plan and clubs

The Canadore Students' Council runs on-campus cultural, social and athletic programming, and its office is in the Welcome Centre inside the College Drive main doors. Full-time students who pay the extended health plan fee are enrolled automatically in the guard.me Extended Health Plan. You can join clubs through an online form, and the Panther Press is the student-run magazine.

First Peoples' Centre

The First Peoples' Centre offers cultural and academic support for Indigenous learners. Canadore says nearly 20 percent of its on-campus students celebrate Indigenous heritage, from nations including Ojibway, OjiCree, Cree, Algonquin, Métis, Mohawk and Inuit.

Decision checklist

  • Contact Student Success before classes when accommodations may be needed.
  • Use the service directory for current booking and urgent-support routes.
  • Verify the campus address and delivery method for each service.
