When do Ontario universities send offers? Fall 2027 dates for every school
Ontario universities send offers on their own schedules. The first come in November or December 2026, and most come between February and May 2027. If you are in an Ontario high school and apply through OUAC (the Ontario Universities' Application Centre) by January 15, 2027, every university should answer you by May 28, 2027. No Ontario university can make you accept or pay a deposit before June 1, 2027. The table below shows each school's own timing, with its source.

Universities decide using the marks OUAC sends them. These dates are for Ontario high school students.

Ontario universities outside the OUAC offer cycle
Two Ontario degree-granting schools use their own application route, so the OUAC dates above don't apply.

Why so many offers come in May
Most Ontario universities decide using the marks OUAC sends them, and those arrive in waves: first-semester finals by February 11, 2027 and second-semester midterms by April 22, 2027. Waterloo says highly competitive programs may wait until early May to see those midterms. Western says its largest round is usually around mid-May, and McMaster says its decisions typically run from mid-March to early May.
So no offer in March isn't a no. U of T considers you again in each round, Western reviews your file in every round, and Guelph considers you in every round until it makes a final decision. Trent reviews final grades in July for anyone without an offer by May.

Early offers
A few universities make offers before the new year, usually from Grade 11 marks or the first marks your school sends. uOttawa's first round runs from mid-November to the end of January, and Guelph starts in November. Trent, Lakehead, Nipissing and York start in December, and Queen's says it begins making offers in early December.
Early offers are a bonus, not a signal. Waterloo says it has no formal early admission process, and Queen's calendar says most conditional offers to Ontario students come from March to May. Programs with portfolios, auditions or supplementary applications usually can't decide early, because they wait for those materials.

Programs that decide on their own timeline
Programs with an extra step often have their own dates. U of T Engineering decides in February, March and May rounds, and you must finish its supplemental application by December 1 to be eligible for February. Rotman Commerce makes monthly offers from February to late May. Western's Ivey Advanced Entry Opportunity is a separate decision that comes after your Western offer, with most AEO offers in April and May.
McMaster Health Sciences makes offers in early May, using your Grade 12 marks and your supplementary application score. Schulich's BBA gives early consideration offers between December 2026 and January 2027 to students who apply and finish the supplementary application by late November. TMU publishes a first-round month for each Grades-Plus program, from late January for Disability Studies to late April for Midwifery.

Where official pages disagree
Some schools give two answers. Waterloo's central page says Engineering offers start in January, while its Engineering FAQ says a small number start in December. Laurier gives November on one page and December on another. York's I've applied page says a complete file is usually assessed within four weeks, while its admissions FAQ, which still shows Fall 2026 deadlines, says six weeks.
McMaster's accept page says to reply by June 2 or the date in your offer letter, but McMaster Nursing's 2027 dates page and OUAC both give June 1, 2027. Brock's site blocks automated reads, so its row comes from an August 2025 copy. Windsor's only timing source is a help answer last updated in 2024. In every case, trust the date in your own offer letter and portal, and ask the school if they differ.

What an offer looks like
Universities send offers themselves. OUAC doesn't make decisions and doesn't receive the details of your offers. Expect an email, then the offer in that university's own portal: Join U of T, Waterloo's applicant portal, the Choose Western Offer Portal, SOLUS at Queen's, uoZone at uOttawa, MyFile at York or the ChooseTMU portal.
U of T's possible decisions show the range: admitted, admitted to an alternate program, waitlisted or not admitted. Ontario Tech says you should have an offer, a refusal or a waitlist place by May 28, 2027. Read each letter closely.

Accepting an offer and the June 1 rule
You accept in your OUAC application, not in the university's portal. You can hold only one accepted offer at a time. For current Ontario high school students, June 1, 2027 is the earliest date any Ontario university can make you respond or pay a deposit. Deposits are separate: OCAD U's deposit is due June 8, 2027, and a Queen's residence deposit due June 1 is not your acceptance.

What to do while you wait
Waiting is the hardest part, and the next few months still count. These steps keep your options open.
- Keep your Grade 12 marks up. Most offers use interim marks, and final marks decide your conditions.
- Watch each university's portal for document requests. OUAC says to contact a university if you hear nothing within 2 to 3 weeks of applying.
- Finish any supplementary forms, portfolios, auditions or Casper by their deadlines. Some programs won't decide until they have them.
- Check your average for each program with the Top 6 average calculator.
- Keep the Ontario university application deadlines in view for scholarship and residence dates.
