Admissions Planning
Fall 2027 admissions planning
Trinity Western requirements for Ontario students
Direct undergraduate entry starts with the OSSD, ENG4U, five more U or M courses, and a 70% average. Nursing, Music, later-entry honours, Education, transfer, and international pathways add separate gates.
Ontario floor
70% average
ENG4U plus five additional Grade 12 U or M courses.
Fall 2027 classes
September 8, 2027
Confirmed in TWU’s Senate-approved 2026–2031 calendar.
Nursing capacity
60 students
Separate application, references, CASPer, and selection apply.
Academic dates confirmed, admission cycle pending
Do not turn standing dates into Fall 2027 promises
September 7 orientation and September 8 classes are explicitly published for Fall 2027. March 1 early admission, ongoing regular admission, August 1 transcripts, and February 28 Nursing are current standing dates, but none is yet labelled for the Fall 2027 cycle.
Ontario preparation by route
| Route | Minimum | Ontario preparation | Boundary |
|---|---|---|---|
| General direct entry | 70% admission average | OSSD, ENG4U, and five additional Grade 12 U or M courses | This is the published eligibility floor, not a guaranteed competitive cut-off. |
| Nursing (BSN) | 70% (B-) in every prerequisite | ENG4U, SBI4U, SCH4U, and a Grade 11 or 12 Mathematics course | The separate application also requires two references and CASPer; minimums do not guarantee one of 60 seats. |
| Natural and applied sciences | General admission minimum | ENG4U; SBI4U, SCH4U, MHF4U or MCV4U, and SPH4U are strongly encouraged | TWU frames the senior sciences and math as preparation guidance; exact course prerequisites still vary. |
| Engineering Transfer | General admission plus course readiness | ENG4U with senior Mathematics, Chemistry, and Physics preparation | This is preparation for transfer into an engineering degree elsewhere, not a TWU engineering degree. |
| Music (BA) | General admission plus audition | ENG4U plus two contrasting audition pieces, generally Grade 7 RCM level | Music theory or history students also take a placement test; the program page currently gives March 15 for Musical Arts Scholarships. |
| Art + Design honours | 3.0 GPA plus portfolio | Later application after second year rather than high-school direct entry | Admission can also occur in third or fourth year after faculty portfolio adjudication. |
| Concurrent BA/BEd or BSc/BEd | 2.7 GPA for later program stages | Begin a BA or BSc, seek Education confirmation after second year, then apply to Professional Year | High-school admission is not admission to the final nine-month Professional Year. |
| Transfer applicants | 2.00 cumulative postsecondary GPA | Twenty-seven or more credits are assessed on postsecondary work; fewer than 27 also require high-school criteria | Up to 75 semester hours may transfer, subject to source and course rules. |

Programs and Pathways
Program and campus fit
Separate Langley entry from later and extension pathways
TWU is a private Christian liberal arts university with a broad Langley undergraduate catalogue. Richmond, online degree completion, Ottawa’s Laurentian Leadership Centre, Education’s Professional Year, and Engineering Transfer are different delivery or progression models.
Main campus
Langley
Most direct-entry undergraduate degrees and residence are here.
Ottawa extension
15-credit LLC semester
Nine course credits plus a six-credit internship and residence.
Game Development
Four BA streams
Art, design, music + sound, and software development.
Langley direct-entry degrees
The main campus hosts the broad undergraduate catalogue, including Arts, Business, Science, Nursing, Human Kinetics, Sport Management, Music, and Game Development.
Program-specific prerequisites, auditions, or later selection can sit above the general 70% admission floor.
Nursing
A 60-seat, faith-integrated, CASN-accredited BSN with clinical learning in hospital, community, and simulation settings.
Applicants complete a separate Nursing application, references, CASPer, and course minima; meeting them does not guarantee admission.
Concurrent Education
Students complete a BA or BSc with Education courses, seek confirmation after second year, and later compete for a fifth Professional Year.
The Professional Year reviews GPA, field experience, references, academic breadth, and readiness separately.
Engineering Transfer
One or two years of science, mathematics, and Christian liberal-arts courses prepare students to complete engineering elsewhere.
TWU identifies a direct second-year transfer agreement with UVic; destination requirements must be checked independently.
Game Development
The BA uses a shared core and streams in Game Art, Game Design, Music + Sound, and Software Development.
This is a Langley BA, not a short certificate or Richmond-campus offering.
Online degree completion
Adult learners can complete Leadership or Psychology routes in a flexible, one-course-at-a-time online model.
Degree Completion has its own lower tuition rate and is excluded from TWU institutional Financial Aid & Awards.
Laurentian Leadership Centre
A live-in Ottawa extension semester combines nine academic credits, a six-credit internship, and community life.
Applicants normally need 60 semester hours and a 2.75 GPA; visiting students from eligible institutions may apply.
Richmond locations
TWU identifies Minoru and Lansdowne as Richmond sites serving leadership, language, graduate, and professional learning.
Do not assume Langley's full direct-entry undergraduate catalogue is delivered in Richmond.
Biotechnology catalogue update
The current 2026–2027 calendar lists Biotechnology as an emphasis inside Biology rather than as a separate major. Use the live calendar, not older collateral that still markets a standalone degree.

Approved exceptions can apply, including living at home.

Co-op, Research, and Career Outcomes
Work-integrated learning
Co-op is one part of TWU’s experiential model
TWU distinguishes paid co-op and internships from practica, field placements, applied research, entrepreneurship, and service learning. Availability and required hours depend on the program.
Co-op
Paid work terms
Alternates with academic study in participating programs.
Science examples
12–16 weeks
Two biotechnology-related co-ops are described on the current page.
Ottawa LLC
Six-credit internship
Part of a 15-credit live-in extension semester.
Co-operative education
Paid work terms alternate with academic study; program length determines the minimum work-term share.
Biotechnology/Biology
The current science opportunity page describes two practica and two 12–16-week full-time co-ops, usually in summer.
Sport Management
The Bachelor of Sport Management requires six semester hours of internship experience.
Nursing
Clinical experiences span hospital, community, and simulation settings; summer undergraduate research internships are also described.
Laurentian Leadership Centre
The Ottawa semester includes a six-credit internship plus nine credits of interdisciplinary courses.
Placement boundary
TWU provides job-search support and a Career Connect board, but the current pages do not promise every student a placement.
Placement is not automatic
The university provides Career Connect postings, faculty and career coordination, and employer pathways. The current pages do not publish a universal placement guarantee, so students should verify the exact program’s eligibility, work-term timing, and application process.
