Building Brighter Futures: Bursaries and Scholarships

Indspire's Building Brighter Futures: Bursaries and Scholarships (BBF) program is a significant source of financial support for First Nations, Inuit, and Métis students. Since its inception in 1996, the program has provided substantial financial aid, helping to open doors through education.

The BBF program has seen significant growth, more than doubling in the last six years. In a recent year, over 6,000 applications were processed, marking the highest number ever received. This growth has allowed Indspire to provide more financial support to individual students.

There is one application for almost all of Indspire’s bursaries and scholarships.
Students only need to complete the application once to be considered for all applicable awards.
Applications are for the September to August academic year.

Applicants for the Building Brighter Futures: Bursaries and Scholarships program should note the following deadlines for the September to August academic year:

August 1: For studies beginning in the fall term.
November 1: For studies beginning in the winter term.
February 1: For studies beginning in the spring/summer term.
