Sault College Admissions

Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario

Canadian residents apply on ontariocolleges.ca. International students apply through an agent or, from the US, directly.

Apply, accept, confirm, pay

Canadian residents apply through ontariocolleges.ca for a non-refundable $150 fee, by February 1 for equal consideration; after that it's first come, first served. Sault emails you a student number and Student Portal access once you apply. Your offer letter and Acceptance Guide explain next steps. Confirm on ontariocolleges.ca by May 1 for fall, or within two weeks if you apply after May 1.

Minimum requirements

Every postsecondary program needs an OSSD or equivalent, such as a GED or ACE certificate, plus any program courses or grades. Degrees need university-level (U or M) courses where listed. If you're 19 or older without a diploma, you can apply as a mature student, write the $25 Canadian Academic Achievement Test for math or English, or take free Academic Upgrading.

Oversubscribed programs

Oversubscribed programs rank complete applications received by the deadline on the average of final grades in required courses, using Grade 11 marks if Grade 12 isn't finished. Ontario residents get priority. Ten percent of seats go to students finishing a Sault preparatory certificate with a GPA of 2.5 or higher. Five percent of seats in Nursing, Practical Nursing, Occupational Therapy Assistant/Physiotherapist Assistant and Pre-Health are held for Indigenous applicants.

International applicants

International applicants usually work with a Sault partner agent through the Ontario Colleges international portal; applicants from the United States can apply directly. The fee is $150, and applications are reviewed within 5 business days. Your Provincial Attestation Letter comes after Sault receives your first semester fees. Most diplomas need IELTS Academic 6.0 with no band below 5.5, and some programs need 6.5.

Decision checklist

  • Apply by February 1.
  • Confirm by May 1 for fall.
