Northern College Programs
Timmins, Ontario
Program pages list the campus, length, admission subjects and whether the program runs this year.
Programs by campus
Northern's programs are tied to campuses: trades, technology and emergency services at Timmins, veterinary sciences at Haileybury, welding and environmental programs at Kirkland Lake. Northern also offers distance education and Access Centres for learners studying away from the four campuses. Program availability changes by year, so check ontariocolleges.ca for current intakes.
Example: Computer Engineering Technician
Computer Engineering Technician is a two-year Ontario College Diploma at the Timmins campus. It needs an OSSD with Grade 12 English (C or U) and Grade 12 math (C or U), with MCT4C preferred and MAP4C accepted at 60% or higher. You learn hardware, networking, programming, web development, cybersecurity and databases.
Transfers and pathways
Northern has transfer agreements with other colleges and universities for graduates, plus internal and external transfer credit, Prior Learning Assessment and Recognition (PLAR) and challenge exams. International students can also start with English language training through a pathway with Seneca's English Language Institute. Email pathways@northern.on.ca for help.
Decision checklist
