Northern College Tuition and Financial Aid
Timmins, Ontario
General 2026–27 tuition is $2,774.97 a year for domestic students, plus campus ancillary fees.
Tuition by program
Northern lists tuition for a full academic year of two semesters. In 2026–27, most domestic programs cost $2,774.97 and most international programs $15,715.60. Specialty programs cost more. Ancillary fees depend on your campus, from $903.50 at Moosonee to $1,008.50 at Haileybury for domestic students, and you pay the full year in your first semester.
Deposits and payment
Full-time domestic students pay a $250 non-refundable deposit, due June 15 for fall, November 15 for winter and March 30 for summer. The rest is due by the first day of class unless you have OSAP or a payment plan. After day 10, a $150 late fee applies and unpaid students may lose access to classes.
Withdrawals and refunds
If you withdraw officially before day 10, Northern refunds your tuition but keeps the $250 deposit. Day 10 is September 22, 2026 for fall and January 22, 2027 for winter. After day 10, you don't get a refund for that semester. Not attending isn't withdrawing.
OSAP and grants
OSAP counts you as full-time at 60% of a full course load, or 40% with a permanent disability. The Ontario Learn and Stay Grant is available in Practical Nursing, the Bachelor of Science in Nursing and Paramedic, and Ontario Health offers incentives for Personal Support Worker students.
Scholarships and bursaries
Northern gives close to $2 million a year through more than 1,000 scholarships, bursaries and awards, and you don't have to be top of your class. The fall application ran September 8 to 30, 2026. Faculty and staff can also nominate students without an application.
Checked 2026-10-01
Ancillary fees differ by campus and are paid for the whole year in the first semester. The Bachelor of Science in Nursing still shows its 2025–26 amount ($6,000.30 domestic). Northern updates fees each May.
