Business co-op is optional and is not required to graduate. Co-op students add BUSD 1011 and BUSD 1012 to their specialization’s Term 2 courses. BUSD 1012 is restricted to Business Administration, requires BUSD 1011 and departmental consent, and lists 640 hours of paid work experience. It is not a college-wide placement promise.

Social Work instead requires six terms and two practicums totalling 700 hours. The September 2026 requirements include specified English grades and 100 hours of eligible paid or volunteer human-services experience with one organization during the prior five years. That experience must be completed before an offer; conditional admission is not offered for it.

Transfer into NorQuest is assessed after admission to a credential program. Requests can take up to 12 weeks and require a named prior course, the requested NorQuest course, official transcripts and supporting documents. The same prior course cannot provide credit more than once, and an already attempted or completed NorQuest course is ineligible.

Transfer out remains the receiving institution’s decision. NorQuest says pathway pages can identify block agreements or possible entry years, but not every course counts toward a destination requirement and admission may still depend on prerequisites or high-school grades. Obtain current written advice for the exact destination.

The domestic estimate is $12,120 tuition plus $3,031.30 fees, for $15,151.30 total. The international estimate is $45,645 tuition plus $3,031.30 fees, for $48,676.30 total. These figures apply to the displayed Business Administration selection and must not be generalized to another program.

An offered student usually pays a tuition deposit by the offer deadline. The deposit is $400 for domestic students or $1,000 for international students. The deposit goes toward first-term tuition. If you cancel at least 30 days before the program starts, you get a 50% refund. After that, the deposit is non-refundable. A timely study-permit refusal uses a separate rule of less than 25%.

Government aid is for designated post-secondary certificate, diploma, post-diploma and Open Studies routes. The government must assess you first. Academic Upgrading, English as an Additional Language and Transitions to Employment use Foundational Learning Assistance instead. Federal loan or grant conditions include Canadian citizenship. They also include permanent residence or protected-person status. Financial need is another condition.

College awards require current enrolment and attendance in the application term. Fall 2026 applications close November 1 at 11:59 p.m. Winter 2027 closes March 1 at 11:59 p.m. The general application auto-matches some opportunities. Recommended opportunities can request more information. Neither aid nor an award is guaranteed.

Accommodated exams follow setup with Accessibility Advisors and Assistive Technology. NorQuest describes in-person options at Edmonton or Wetaskiwin and possible online delivery, with a five-business-day flexible writing window. The appropriate arrangement depends on approved accommodations and the exam, so contact the service early.

Accessibility hours are Monday to Friday, 8:15 a.m.–4:30 p.m.; in-person quick questions are listed from 9 a.m.–noon and 1–3 p.m. The page says email responses take three to five business days. Those timings are contact expectations, not accommodation approval or implementation guarantees.

The Student Health and Wellness Centre offers in-person and online appointments or drop-ins through psychologists, social workers and nurses. Professional mental-health support is free and private for NorQuest students. Nurses are drop-in only and cannot dispense medication. Services may not be on site at every campus.

For urgent needs, use the current crisis directions rather than waiting for a routine appointment. The page lists 911 for emergencies, 988 for the national crisis line and the Edmonton distress line outside office hours. Keep accessibility, health care, counselling, academic advising and emergency response as distinct routes.

Your fees cover more of student life. Eligible students are enrolled in the student health and dental plan for $401 a year, and you can opt out without proof of other coverage by the 14th day after your first class. The Students' Association fee is $66.75 a term. The miyo-pimâtisiwin Centre is a gathering space for Indigenous and non-Indigenous students, and NorQuest has an on-site childcare centre.

Career supports continue for recent graduates for up to six months after graduation. That service window is useful for transition planning, but employment, wage, licensure and immigration outcomes remain decisions of employers, regulators and government authorities. Keep completed credentials and application materials separate from an employer offer.

NorQuest’s WIL page says the Career Centre supports opportunities across business, technology, environment and settlement faculties. Format belongs to the program or course. Business co-op BUSD 1012, for example, is a 640-hour paid experience restricted to Business Administration, with BUSD 1011 and departmental consent required.

Social Work uses another model: two practicums total 700 hours, and placements normally run full-time for 35 hours weekly over 10 to 11 weeks from early May to mid-July. Required checks and possible costs apply. International students must submit permit documents to the International Office to verify placement eligibility in advance.

Before relying on experiential learning, confirm whether it is required or optional, the prerequisites, hours, schedule, host process, pay, checks, transportation, equipment and authorization. Program completion does not promise a particular job, and a curriculum requirement does not by itself authorize work in Canada.
