Use the correct career portal
Career and Co-op Services provides MyCareer for students and alumni. Its listed services include job postings, one-to-one guidance and resume reviews. Community Employment Services is a different portal for community members, so students should use the audience-specific route.
Prepare application materials
MyCareer support also includes cover-letter critiques, job-search coaching, career counselling, information sessions, workshops and job fairs. Availability follows the current student or alumni route and service schedule. These preparation services do not replace employer requirements or selection.
Prepare for co-op tasks
Co-op students attend preparation sessions, meet a Co-op Consultant, search MyCareer and external sources, and submit work details after receiving an offer. During and after the term, monitoring, a report, employer evaluation and confirmation of hours may apply. Minimum hours depend on the program.
Confirm programme-specific work terms
Niagara describes co-op opportunities as paid, but a program's curriculum and employer process control the actual work term. Confirm that the chosen program includes co-op, find the assigned consultant and prepare for employer selection. Career support does not itself guarantee a placement or job.
