Experiential learning
Lambton's experiential learning includes paid co-op terms, clinical and field placements, capstone and industry projects, applied research, simulation and service learning. Which ones you get depends on your program. A co-curricular record can list your activities outside class.
Getting cleared for placement
Placements are common in community services and health sciences. Before you're approved, you must complete a criminal reference check with vulnerable sector screening, show proof of immunizations and finish training in AODA, WHMIS, health and safety, sexual violence prevention and workplace violence. Some programs also need CPR, first aid, mask fit testing and crisis intervention training.
Transfer and pathways
Lambton has transfer partnerships with colleges and universities in Ontario, across Canada and abroad. Email edupathways@lambtoncollege.ca before you count on credits toward another credential. To bring credits into Lambton, contact the Office of the Registrar.
Employment services
Lambton College Community Employment Services, an Employment Ontario program in Building N on the Sarnia campus, offers employment services to the Lambton County community. Career help and placements don't guarantee a job after graduation.
