La Cité locations

La Cité programs and campuses

The program directory and campus pages at La Cité show where each offering is and how it is delivered.

Start with the program record

La Cité is an Ontario French-language college. Its program directory is the starting point for comparing credentials, campus, language, intake and delivery. The main Ottawa campus opened in 1995 and has about ten pavilions on 60 acres; La Cité says the large majority of its programs are taught there.

Match the program to a campus

The Ottawa campus page lists a sports complex, cafeteria, 251-room residence and about 100 laboratories. La Cité also names the Alphonse-Desjardins skilled-trades campus in Orléans and a Toronto location. Save the exact program number and confirm its location. Do not assume every program uses Ottawa.

Decision checklist

  • Record the exact program number, campus, language and intake.
  • Check whether the offering is full-time, part-time, online or blended.
  • Use the admission-date page for the relevant applicant route.

Compare the exact La Cité offering

Program pages carry the conditions that determine credential, campus, language and next steps.

Read the individual program record

The directory includes many program records and a program-search route. One concrete example is the Baccalauréat en sciences infirmières – Passerelle: its page lists a four-year, Ottawa, on-campus bachelor program and marks it highly competitive. The page said Canadian applications for fall 2026 were complete when checked September 6, 2026, so that status is historical and must be checked again for another intake.

Treat transfer as program-specific

La Cité also publishes a transfer-pathway area. A pathway label is a planning lead, not a promise of universal credit: ask both institutions to assess the named credential, courses, grades and destination intake.

Program range and placements

La Cité is a French-language college. Its program directory describes more than 140 college programs, and the search listed 181 records on October 3, 2026, including preparatory programs. Depending on the program, you may complete one or more full-time placements, and students are responsible for finding their placement.

Highly competitive programs for September 2027

Some programs are highly competitive. For September 2027, La Cité lists the accelerated Bachelor of Science in Nursing, two nursing bridge routes, the Bachelor in cybersecurity and data protection, the honours Bachelor in cybersecurity (defence and counter-attack), Dental Hygiene, and Practical Nursing, including its Hawkesbury, Montfort and Santé Bruyère versions. Each carries a February 1, 2027 application deadline, with decisions in mid-February 2027.

In these programs, meeting the minimum requirements doesn't guarantee admission. La Cité ranks applicants on the strength of their academic record and on residence: Ontario residents get priority, then residents of other provinces and territories, then international applicants. Only the two cybersecurity degrees accept international applicants for September 2027.

Decision checklist

  • Save the program record before comparing it.
  • Do not transfer a condition from one La Cité program to another.
  • Request written pathway or credit advice for your destination.

Plan housing around the La Cité campus

La Résidence de La Cité is a housing option linked from the college site; terms and availability must be checked for the intake.

What the Ottawa residence provides

La Cité’s student residence is on the Ottawa campus and has 251 furnished rooms. The residence page describes shared units with two individual bedrooms, a kitchenette and bathroom, plus controlled-card entry, a visitor register and a security guard present 24/7.

2026–27 rates and contracts

La Cité's own residence page does not establish one current price; the residence's site, residencelacite.ca, publishes the 2026–27 rates. Its standard contract runs eight months, September 2026 to April 2027. One payment costs $8,360 in total, two payments $8,650 and three payments $9,000. A 12-month contract from May 1, 2026 to April 26, 2027 costs $12,535 to $13,470, depending on the payment plan. The residence describes the price as all-inclusive: heat, electricity, water, wifi and student activities. Rates for 2027–28 weren't posted when we checked on October 3, 2026.

Booking, deposit and cancellation

Monthly payments aren't offered. To hold a room, your file must be complete by June 10, 2026, meaning the signed contract and rules plus the first payment. Rooms go first come, first served. You also pay a $100 non-refundable file-opening fee and a $500 damage deposit, which is refunded at the end of the contract if no damage is reported.

Read the cancellation terms before you sign. For the eight-month contract, the cancellation deadline is September 25, 2026; after it, no refund is issued and the full contract amount stays payable even if you leave early. The deposit is refunded less $50 for cancellations received by May 1, 2026, half is kept after that date, and none is refunded after May 31, 2026.

Holiday break and other campuses

The holiday break isn't part of the contract. If you stay, you sign a holiday contract at reception before November 18, 2026 and pay $595 for 17 days or $35 a night. Otherwise you leave by noon on December 20, 2026 and can return from January 8, 2027. Students assigned to Orléans, Toronto, another location or online delivery need a separate housing plan tied to their attendance pattern.

Decision checklist

  • Match housing to the selected campus and attendance pattern.
  • Complete your residence file by June 10, 2026, and budget for the $500 deposit and $100 file fee.
  • Note the September 25, 2026 cancellation deadline for the eight-month contract.
  • Keep an off-campus plan if residence capacity is limited.

Separate La Cité fees from financial support

Fees, bursaries and loans have different rules; use the current registrar and aid pages for the selected status and period.

Compare the program-specific fee table

The Baccalauréat en sciences infirmières – Passerelle page publishes an indicative 2026–27 Canadian fee table: $3,767.52 for stage 1, $3,919.52 for stage 2, and $7,687.04 for year one. It defines Canadian applicants as citizens, permanent residents or protected persons and says figures can change. The international table on the same page lists $9,510.54 and $9,547.54 for the first two stages, or $19,058.08 for year one.

Check aid separately from admission

La Cité’s student-services and aid pages point students to bursaries, loans and support. Funding eligibility and deadlines are separate from admission; read each award or aid record and keep the application evidence it requests.

Keep international deposits separate

International planning starts with the selected program’s own fee table. La Cité’s general international page says annual study costs vary by program, while its application route distinguishes the regular and francophone-community pilot pathways. Do not substitute a general range or deposit for the itemized bill on the program page.

Decision checklist

  • Get a program- and status-specific fee quote.
  • Separate optional insurance or services from mandatory charges.
  • Read aid conditions and dates before budgeting on an award.

Use La Cité’s portal and services

The student portal and services pages route students to day-to-day academic and wellbeing support.

Use the portal for student tasks

Use the student portal for account and academic-service access. Registration, records and account tasks can differ before and after enrolment, so follow the registrar instruction attached to the task rather than assuming every portal user has the same access.

Borrow and learn through the library

The Ottawa library lends materials with a valid student card, keeps course materials on reserve for on-site consultation and offers database-search instruction, research orientation and library tours. Its service desk is in A3020; verify current hours and borrowing rules before travelling.

Find campus activities and safety support

The student-services page lists the student association, a recently renovated sports complex, Coyotes competitive and recreational teams, health and wellbeing support and employment support. Its free evening accompaniment service operates October through April, Monday to Friday from 5 p.m. to 11 p.m.; a two-person team provides 15–20-minute walking accompaniment. Campus Security is a separate service present 24/7, reached through emergency posts or extension 3000.

Counselling, accommodations and health

For counselling and accommodations, La Boussole brings together occupational therapists, psychologists, psychotherapists and social workers. It offers crisis help, individual follow-up, workshops and academic accommodations for students with a disability, at no cost. It's open Monday to Friday, 8 a.m. to 6 p.m., including in summer, in room C1030.

La Zone réussite, on the second floor of building A, groups the help centres for French, English, math, science, office software and computing. The CSanté medical clinic in B1060 offers consultations, vaccines and contraception, and a dental clinic shares the same room. Each school also has a student experience specialist for program questions.

Student association, sport and community

The Association étudiante runs student insurance, a food bank, the Café-bistro le 801 and the Coyotes, who field three intercollegiate teams and five extramural teams. Indigenous students can use the Centre Mino Pimatisiwin. Both the Ottawa and Orléans campuses have a cafeteria.

Decision checklist

  • Use the portal route supplied for your applicant or student status.
  • Contact support early when documentation or accessibility is needed.
  • Keep registrar and service confirmations with your application records.

Plan work experience and transfer carefully

La Cité’s transfer and employment resources are starting points; conditions belong to the named program and destination.

Check whether COOP is available

La Cité’s COOP mode provides paid placements related to a student’s field, but they are not required for the regular diploma. The college says most COOP placements last 14 weeks between study terms; sequence and number depend on the program. Eligibility requires completing preceding courses, paying program fees and successfully completing the placement-preparation workshop. The official page lists a $350 preparation-term fee and $150 for each found-and-confirmed placement, with limited refund conditions.

Use employment services without assuming an outcome

Students search through La Cité Emplois from the portal. Students remain responsible for finding a placement, and La Cité does not assure one. Employment and COOP services provide job postings, workshops, CV clinics, a toolkit and a job fair, but do not guarantee a placement or job. Graduates who completed their credential less than five years ago can use the graduate employment route and must reset their password on first use.

Confirm the named transfer pathway

Transfer planning remains program-specific. Record the La Cité credential, courses and grades plus the destination program, intake and admission conditions. A published pathway can include advanced entry or bridge courses; confirm the current written credit assessment with the receiving institution.
