Start with the full program list

Fleming's program pages group full-time programs, graduate certificates, apprenticeships and programs for Workplace (E) graduates. Each program page lists start dates, admission requirements and fees. The optional Indigenous Education Designation adds Indigenous content in programs that offer it, beyond the two general education subjects students in those programs already take.

Apprenticeship and retraining routes

Apprentices in Ontario's designated trades train on the job and attend classes in trade theory and related academics at an approved school such as Fleming. Better Jobs Ontario, the province's retraining program for unemployed and underemployed workers, can provide up to $28,000 for tuition, books, transportation, childcare and a basic living allowance. It's a needs-based cost-sharing grant, so you may be asked to contribute.

Pathways to a second credential or degree

Fleming's pathways page gives average timelines: a certificate to a diploma in about 3 years, a diploma to a general degree in about 4 years, and an advanced diploma to an honours degree in about 5 years. Fleming says each pathway is unique and may take longer. Transfer Services also assesses course-by-course credit and PLAR for students coming in from other schools.

Check co-op and work-permit details

Several programs build in co-op, such as Aquaculture (Co-op) and Arboriculture (Co-op), and others include field placements. The program curriculum decides whether a work term is included. International students should check Fleming's list of programs eligible for a Post-Graduation Work Permit (PGWP). Fleming says the final PGWP decision belongs to Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC).

Decision checklist

  • Read the program page for campus, start dates and requirements.
  • Check apprenticeship or Better Jobs Ontario eligibility separately.
  • Confirm any pathway before counting on credits.
