Pick your applicant route
Fleming splits applicants into current Ontario high-school students, mature or transfer students, and international students. Domestic applicants apply through ontariocolleges.ca and can list up to five programs, with no more than three at one college. Ontario Colleges charges a non-refundable $150 fee for choices that start in the same August-to-July academic year. Current high-school students have their school send grades. Others send official transcripts through ontariocolleges.ca.
Meet the February 1 equal-consideration date
Applications received by February 1 get equal consideration. After that, Fleming processes them first come, first served until programs fill. This matters most for over-subscribed programs. Fleming accepts applications up to the 10th day of class if seats remain. You can accept only one program offer per academic year, and you confirm it on ontariocolleges.ca by the confirmation deadline.
Use credits and experience you already have
Ontario college or university credits can earn advanced standing. Request that transcript through ontariocolleges.ca; schools in other provinces must mail original transcripts straight to Fleming. Adults returning to school may earn credit for work or life learning through Prior Learning Assessment and Recognition (PLAR). Both charge a processing fee. If you're 19 or older by the start of classes without a high-school diploma, you apply as a mature student, and the SKILLSMARKER assessment can show whether you're ready for direct entry.
International applications run separately
International applicants apply through the Ontario Colleges international portal (IAS), not the domestic site, and pay a $100 fee. After paying, you must go back and select Submit, or Fleming won't receive the application. Fleming aims to make offers within 5 to 10 business days. One part of the page says to contact admissions after 10 days without an update, while its FAQ says 30 days. Accepting one offer revokes your other Fleming offers. You must pay the full first-semester fees by the offer deadline or lose the seat.
Refugee applicants follow specific rules
Fleming's international page sets application windows by country, from 5 months before intake for Nigeria and Uganda to 6 weeks for China, India, the Philippines, Vietnam and Mexico. Convention refugees apply through the international portal with proof of status and pay domestic fees. Refugee claimants pay international fees. Both need a valid study permit before starting a program longer than six months.
Decision checklist
- Apply by February 1 for equal consideration.
- Use the domestic or international portal, never both.
- International applicants: select Submit after paying.
