Meet the entry route
General admission requires a BC secondary diploma or equivalent, age 19 or older, or the published under-19 alternative with an approved transition route or supporting consent and letters. A first-time applicant may be asked to complete the College Readiness Tool.
Most programs use general enrolment and are first qualified, first admitted; Nursing and Rural Pre-Medicine are competitive. Domestic applicants pay a non-refundable $40 fee for each program application, although one transcript set can serve multiple applications. Returning students reapply, but pay no fee when returning to the same program.
Follow the international sequence
An international applicant is defined by citizenship or permanent-resident status, even when already in Canada. The international route requests transcripts, test scores, passport identification and a résumé when applicable, and lists a $100 application fee for direct applications.
The international page says payment is due on acceptance, an unconditional offer follows payment, and a seat is not held until tuition and fees are paid. Study-permit and any co-op work-permit steps remain separate government processes.
