For Computer Information Systems, the published English condition is English 12 with at least 60% or alternatives. The 60% mathematics routes include Pre-calculus 12, Principles of Mathematics 12, ABE MATH 012 or OC MATH 120. The 67% routes include the listed grade 11, foundations, applications and ABE alternatives. A 70% OC Mathematics 11 or 12 proficiency test is another route. A mandatory orientation is listed; keyboarding at 20 wpm and a home computer are strongly recommended.

Domestic applications for upgrading, certificate, diploma and degree programs go through EducationPlannerBC. In general, fall intakes open at 8:30 a.m. on the first weekday of October in the year before, and winter intakes on the first weekday of February in the year before, with some exceptions. You can apply to several programs, intakes or campuses, but each needs its own application and fee, and you can't edit an application once it's submitted.

After you apply, Admissions emails a list of outstanding items and deadlines, and it may not ask for everything at once. B.C. and Yukon students send transcripts through B.C.'s Student Transcripts Service, and current high-school students have a final transcript requested at year end. To accept an offer you pay an initial tuition deposit, and once you accept one program your other Okanagan applications are cancelled.

The page lists September 2026 Kelowna and Vernon on-campus offerings as open when checked September 13, 2026. Its Open definition means applications may lead to an offer or waitlist and does not guarantee a seat. Vernon students must study full time and need dean approval to transfer or take courses at another campus. They must apply to Kelowna in second year to transfer or continue into BCIS years three and four. Availability is time-sensitive and should be checked again.

For the September 6, 2026 to April 29, 2027 academic term, Kelowna rates vary by building and room type. Published academic-year rates range from $6,110 for a Skaha Place five-bedroom room to $9,180 for a studio in citxʷ kl snmymyaʔtn.

Vernon and Salmon Arm each list $8,570 for a studio, $8,160 for a two-bedroom room and $7,750 for a four-bedroom room. These are academic-year amounts, not monthly charges.

All three location pages list a $100 non-refundable application fee and a $250 refundable security deposit. Utilities and internet are included, kitchens are provided, and no meal plan is offered.

A split-payment plan adds a $150 administration fee. The published June 1 and November 2 dates belong to the 2026–27 cycle; use the housing portal for later contract dates and availability.

Okanagan's off-campus page links rental-search resources. Those listings are neither approved nor recommended by the College, and Okanagan does not check their accuracy or conduct landlord background or clearance checks. The College disclaims responsibility and liability arising from listing information. Keep an off-campus backup because a campus-housing application or room preference does not guarantee a placement.

Okanagan’s 2026/27 international fee schedule lists CIS diploma total tuition of $50,950 and approximately $24,878 for the first year for new students in Fall 2026, Winter 2027 or Summer 2027. The tuition page lists Fall 2026 payment by August 25 at 4 p.m. and Winter 2027 payment by December 15 at 4 p.m.; later registrations are due immediately. An approved student-loan extension prevents removal for non-payment before funding, but fees must be paid within five business days after the loan arrives. Financial Aid and Awards provides the route for loans, awards and bursaries, each with separate eligibility.

For personal, academic or career concerns, Okanagan’s wellbeing page links appointment requests for short-term OC counselling. It also lists Here2Talk: free, confidential counselling and referrals available around the clock to domestic and international students currently registered at a B.C. post-secondary institution. Use the service link to choose phone, app or online chat support; do not assume campus appointments operate on the same schedule.

To connect with people on campus, look for Wellness Peer Ambassadors at OC events or contact Recreation and Student Life. The wellbeing page also directs students to Indigenous Peer Mentors, who share information, resources and referrals through the Indigenous Centre. Ask Indigenous Services about current activities and contacts. These are distinct routes for community support, rather than substitutes for an appointment with a counsellor.

Okanagan has four campuses: Kelowna, Penticton, Vernon on Kalamalka Lake, and Salmon Arm. Several campuses have on-site childcare for students and the community, and each lists its parking, food services and campus maps. Campus security runs SafeWalk and takes incident reports.

The CIS department recommends co-op between semesters three and four, and says co-op can add about a year. The CIS diploma requires 60 credits, a minimum graduating average of 60% and at least 50% of the program through Okanagan, including 18 credits at the 200 level or higher. The BCIS page says CIS diploma graduates may enter year three. The degree requires 120 credits and a 60% minimum graduating average. At least 25% and 30 upper-level credits must be completed through Okanagan.

Okanagan’s transfer-credit service requires an accepted offer, tuition deposit and official transcripts. A prior course must be at least 50%, and an equivalent OC course can receive direct credit. A department may grant general or unassigned credit without an exact equivalent, subject to program and academic standards. Courses completed 10 or more years before the application are not accepted. Requests can take up to six weeks, with July 15, November 15 and March 15 deadlines for Fall, Winter and Summer. B.C. transcripts are free, other Canadian transcripts $50 and international transcripts $150. Keep course outlines and ask the receiving program for written admission and credit conditions.
