Choose the correct campus
NLC operates furnished student housing at Dawson Creek and Fort St. John. Housing fees include electricity, heat, hot water, campus internet and parking for one vehicle. Students at Chetwynd, Fort Nelson, Tumbler Ridge or the access centres need a separate local housing plan.
Budget the published stay
The page lists four-month semester rates for September–December or January–April: $2,240 per bedroom in a three- or four-bedroom suite, $3,500 in a two-bedroom suite and $4,760 for a one-bedroom suite. Eight-week trades rates are $1,120, $1,750 and $2,380 respectively. Housing payment is due five days before move-in, and a $50 laundry fee applies per semester or term from August 1, 2026.
Check qualification and priority
The principal resident must be registered at NLC or another recognized institution, pay the application fee and complete the full application. Applicants under 19 need parent or guardian consent. Priority goes to first-year NLC students, self-identified Indigenous students, and current or former youth in care; priority is not a room guarantee.
Plan arrival
Regular check-in is 9 a.m. to 7 p.m.; later arrivals wait until 9 a.m. the next day and may need local accommodation. Read the housing contract and handbook, confirm the assigned campus and suite, and ask the location’s housing manager about availability before travelling.
