Apply through the correct NLC pathway

Dawson Creek, British Columbia

Domestic and international students use different application guidance after confirming the program’s entry requirements and intake.

Plan the domestic timeline

NLC’s domestic guide recommends applying by May 31 for the best chance of entering a preferred fall program. Applicants first choose the program, review its admission requirements and apply through EducationPlannerBC. The recommendation is not a universal deadline or a seat guarantee.

Match prior schooling

Most program requirements name B.C. secondary courses, but NLC says it also recognizes courses from other jurisdictions. Applicants should submit the requested records and use their admissions officer for missing requirements; the exact program page controls prerequisites rather than the general application guide.

Use international instructions

International applicants use the separate international route, check the chosen program’s entry and English requirements, and review current dates. NLC publishes a changing list of programs aligned with eligible PGWP fields, but completion only makes a graduate eligible to apply; immigration authorities decide the permit.

Decision checklist

  • Check the selected intake before applying.
  • Use the applicant route matching your status.
  • Treat immigration eligibility as conditional and current.

Plan your next step

Reopen the exact official program page for your intake and applicant category. Save the requirement, cost, campus, and deadline evidence you used, then confirm any uncertainty with the institution.
