International applicants to career programmes pay a $50 fee for each application. This fee is non-refundable. Academic Upgrading has no application fee. These statements apply only to these routes. Do not apply either amount to every domestic, apprenticeship, continuing-education or other programme. Do not do this without its current instructions.

Domestic students accepted to the listed oversubscribed programmes must pay a $300 tuition deposit to hold the seat. Separately, international students pay a $5,000 non-transferable seat deposit. NLC withholds the LOA and PAL until full payment and applies it to first-term fees. Proof of permit denial before the programme starts allows a $3,500 refund. $1,500 remains non-refundable. The college also lists missing permits, no timely denial proof or non-attendance as grounds for retaining the full $5,000. Confirm the refund conditions for your situation before paying.

The 2026–27 Child and Youth Care Diploma is 72 weeks online through Bongo and Brightspace, with synchronous and asynchronous study plus three field placements totalling 750 hours. Synchronous Child and Youth courses require attendance, and students must be at least 18 at practicum time.

Survey Theory and Calculations is a 20-week Anytime, Anywhere programme. Entry requires current survey-field employment, at least six months of verified prior survey experience, or successful Introduction to Surveying. Its employment practicum is labelled optional, unlike the required placements in Child and Youth Care.

A $300 seat deposit applies only to accepted domestic students in the listed oversubscribed programmes. International students pay a $5,000 non-transferable seat deposit instead. Counselling is confidential and free for current students. It gives short-term, non-clinical mental-health support. It can help with stress, transitions, appeals, advocacy and community referrals. The service does not do clinical assessments. It does not do diagnoses. It does not do long-term treatment. It does not do medical documentation.

The current-student directory also links NLC Tutor, library services, wellness, Elders-in-Residence, multi-faith programming and the Students' Association. Programmes take place live online, anytime online and at physical locations. Check how the service you chose is delivered. Check whether appointments or authentication are required.

Practical experience differs by programme. Child and Youth Care requires three field placements totalling 750 hours. It warns that placement agencies may require police and intervention-record checks. If you cannot present clear checks, you may not complete the programme.

Survey Theory labels its employment practicum optional. To enter, you need relevant work experience or an introductory course. Pre-Employment Electrician includes an employment practicum. That practicum is part of a blended, shop-and-lab programme. None of these programme components promises a host, a wage, a successful placement, graduation or later employment.
