Domestic and international applicants use EducationPlannerBC, but their eligibility, fees, documents, timing and post-offer steps differ.
Follow the domestic sequence
Domestic applicants must meet program requirements and have graduated from secondary school or be at least 18 during the study year. They must also be Canadian citizens or provide the listed status evidence; younger applicants without graduation use an alternate process.
After applying through EducationPlannerBC, domestic applicants activate myNIC and submit official transcripts. An offer is followed by a program deposit; the deposit may take up to 24 hours to clear, and later instructions move to the NIC student email.
Keep international timing conditional
International applicants select New international student in EducationPlannerBC and pay a non-refundable CAD $100 application fee. Requested evidence includes passport pages, academic records, English results and any program-specific documents; non-English originals need certified third-party translations.
International applications open in October for the following academic year, and NIC recommends applying six months before the term. Deadlines do not guarantee processing or space; the College advises confirming an open seat before paying and waiting ten business days before follow-up.
