Domestic applications
Canadian and Indigenous applicants apply through ontariocolleges.ca, choosing up to five programs with no more than three at one college, for a non-refundable $150 fee. Equal consideration is February 1 for fall and March 1 for winter, and many programs keep accepting applications after that. Track missing requirements in the Self-Service portal. Offers for fall start going out in early February, and you secure your seat by confirming online and paying the deposit by the date on your offer.
General and competitive requirements
Most programs need an OSSD with Grade 12 English at C, M or U level and at least two other senior C, M or U credits. Some need specific math or science. Midterm or in-progress grades can count for equal consideration. In competitive programs, selection scores come from required-course grades, with possible bonus points for previous postsecondary study.
Mature students and equivalencies
If you're 19 or older on the first day of classes without an OSSD, you can apply as a mature student through the Mature Student Assessment, earlier postsecondary study or Academic and Career Entrance (ACE) courses. Confederation accepts equivalents such as a diploma from another province, a GED or CAEC, and a US Grade 12 diploma with 16 credits including 4 in English. Domestic applicants with transcripts from outside Canada need an ICAS or WES assessment.
International applications
International applicants apply through Confederation's International Application System and pay a non-refundable $125 fee, then click Submit. Intakes close about six weeks before the semester. Processing takes about five business days, and a fee doesn't guarantee a Letter of Acceptance. Pay the tuition on your LOA by its deadline, and Confederation then requests your Provincial Attestation Letter.
