Understand the optional co-op structure
CIST appears among the programs with a co-op option. The College says co-op adds a one-credit COOP-100 preparation course and a three-credit COOP-150 work term without replacing diploma requirements. Typical work terms run May through August, with exceptions possible.
Meet every co-op condition
Eligibility requires good academic standing, completion or current completion of 24 first-year credits by the end of Winter, successful COOP-100 completion, May-to-August availability and a return to full-time study after the work term. Students secure a work term with office support, register and pay for COOP-150, and complete at least 420 paid hours; participation does not state that placement is guaranteed.
Use employment and transfer tools carefully
Employment Services serves students and alumni with workshops, an annual Career Fair, in-person support and online resources. The Experience Portal supports custom job searches, résumé and cover-letter storage, event listings and posted volunteer opportunities. These services and the program's transfer-agreement rows are planning tools rather than promises of employment, salary, admission or transfer credit.
