Compare IT work experience

CNA’s IT page distinguishes three routes. Systems and Network Administration has the required 15-week work term described above. Software Development (Co-op) has three 12–16-week placements based on at least 35 paid hours per week. Selection is competitive and requires successful completion of the preceding Semester 2, 4 or 6 courses with at least a 2.00 GPA. Students must also meet the Co-operative Education Office’s course standards.

Advanced Software Development, Enterprise Web Development and Information Management have seven-week Work Experiences. The page calls their eligibility rule Work Exposure and requires successful completion of all preceding courses with at least a 2.00 GPA. A curriculum requirement to complete work experience is not a guarantee of an employer placement.

Continue after the systems diploma

The current Systems and Network Administration page says graduates qualify for direct entry into Year 3 of CNA's Bachelor of Applied Information Technology: Systems and Network Cybersecurity. Its articulation agreement separately says graduates are eligible for admission to Memorial University's Fisheries and Marine Institute Bachelor of Technology. If admitted, they may satisfy that degree by completing 13 courses or 39 credit hours. Confirm current admission and remaining-degree requirements with CNA and Memorial before relying on either route.

Use the Digital Filmmaking example carefully

CNA’s Digital Filmmaking comparison gives a separate named example. Graduates of the two-year diploma may apply online with an official transcript to Memorial University Grenfell’s Bachelor of Fine Arts Theatre Technical Theatre Production program. If accepted, the page states that students receive 59 transfer credit hours and must complete 61 credit hours at Grenfell toward the 120-credit degree.

The further-learning section also permits a maximum of nine additional transfer credits applicable to the degree. Ask Memorial how approved additional credits affect your individual plan; do not automatically subtract nine from the stated Grenfell requirement. This example is credential- and destination-specific and does not establish transfer for Systems and Network Administration.
